It’s been 5 years since we last heard from Parisian Techno DJ Technasia, now in 2021 he is set to make his long–awaited return to Toolroom, with his follow up to the 2015 Green Velvet collab ‘Suga’. One of the biggest club hits to be released on the mighty Toolroom, and after recently receiving exclusive remixes from Detlef and David Penn, Technasia is back with the brand new, absolutely huge club banger ‘Bring It Back’.

Technasia is no stranger when it comes to building anticipation and it is well worth the wait when listening to ‘Bring It Back’. But the world has drastically changed during his hiatus to the label. After almost a year of the pandemic with club culture and dance music being hit the hardest, the feeling of escapism which live music offers has been lost. Technasia sought to engage the #ToolroomFamily to encourage them to reach out and send voice notes of their own stories and what they miss about electronic music, the night life, clubbing and festivals – in a world first collaboration. Using WhatsApp, both Toolroom & Technasia compiled all of the fan submissions together to create the tracks unique melody, interjected throughout the record with one message, to bring back clubs and nightlife.

Full of dancefloor nostalgia ‘Bring It Back’ highlights the positivity and inclusiveness live dance music brings and those moments we miss the most. The atmosphere created by the DJs, the people and the freaks who come out at night meant you could forget about the world for hours.

What Technasia has created with ‘Bring It Back’ is a tech house roller reminiscent of long summer evenings, sweaty nightclubs and good times. With a unique message of love and appreciation for dance music and a sense of community and togetherness we all need right now. ‘Bring It Back’ is an inimitable record with message we can all relate to, and a groove we all can’t wait to get down to.

One of the scene’s most in demand producers and DJs, Darius Syrossian returns to Defected to release ‘White Rabbit’. The release follows a slew of heavy hitters on the imprint, including his 2019 collab with Jamie Jones ‘Rushing’ and solo label debut ‘Come On Come On’, as well as his slamming, disco flavoured two-tracker ‘Tivoli’s Groove / Mustang 74’ on DFTD. Born late in the studio one night just before the world went into lockdown and demonstrating his breadth of musical influences, ‘White Rabbit’ is Darius’ take on the cult 1967 psychedelic record by Jefferson Airplane bearing the same name. Reworked for his DJ sets into a chunky main room cut, Darius kept ‘White Rabbit’ back until dancefloors reopened. Met with a slew of ID requests as he debuted it across summer ’21, a limited white label vinyl only release of 300 copies on his own Moxy Muzik imprint has now evolved into a full digital release with Defected. With all the markers of a club heater, a refreshed vocal and reverberating guitar riffs add an electrifying quality that makes ‘White Rabbit’ stand out from the crowd. From big main room moments to the darker recesses of the dancefloor, expect to hear this one dominate soundsystems for some time to come.

Purobeach is a global chain of beach clubs with a number of beautiful seaside locations worldwide. The story originally began in Palma de Mallorca, from where the brand began to expand it's operations, now in 2016 they maintain locations in Dubai, Portugal as well as a number of clubs throughout Spain. The Puro group also curates it's own record label, Puro Music, producing a series of trusted Mix CD compilations available for hard-copy purchase at the venues as well as being for sale in digital form online, allowing patrons to take home the sounds of the DJs and artists who perform at Purobeach events. The summer CD mix series has become a long-awaited arrival each year, capturing the essential vibe of the season's best deep and soulful house music. The most recent series "Purobeach : The Global Adventure" is now in it's second season, and this year's mixes are surely the most exciting yet, showing the label's unmatched for quality deep music selections throughout the 2 continuous mix CDs and the added bonus USB stick. 

The first CD was mixed and compiled by Puro sound manager Sebas Ramis, a multi-talented DJ/producer who has worked in radio, festival production, and currently produces the Tutsi Girl Play House and Luv Machines projects, in addition to DJing regularly in the Palma Puro locations. Throughout the one hour mix, the Mallorca native captures the essence of 2016's best soulful house sounds, from the afro-house vibes of Manoo and N'Dinga Gaba, to the modern deep sounds of Life On Planets and MAQman, it's a beautiful session that takes us on a heartfelt Balearic journey into the sun-soaked feeling of Purobeach 2016. The 12 tracks are filled with the memorable vocals you'll be sure to hear echoing off the crystal clear waters all year long, bringing the listener to a moment of pure relaxation.

The second disc is mixed by two of the Purobeach Marbella resident DJs, Marcos Cruz and Kike Aguilar. It's a Pool Side session that succeeds in capturing the emotion of the sun setting, combining deep electronic rhythms with funky grooves and dancey house beats. Originally hailing from Sevilla, Cruz regularly tours as a DJ throughout Europe in addition to working as a record label A&R, and it's no wonder why his collaborative mix with weekly resident Kike Aguilar is so fluid and mature in it's selections, which also include a couple of of Cruz's own tracks. In contrast to the first disc's airy and laid back feeling, the second mix takes a more serious tone, warming up the listener to a night of enjoyment, with excellent tracks like the Benjamin Fröhlich remix of Panthera Krause's "If" and the Dub-o-matic version of Aki Bergen's "Fever featuring Carmen Sherry."

Perhaps the most exciting element of the Purobeach : The Global Advnture is the exclusive bonus USB stick, which includes a new 5 track mini-album from the new Tutsi Girl Play House band, produced by Sebas Ramis, which is not yet available for purchase anywhere else. The group also features German Keyboardist Sebastian Motz and superstar Ruandan songstress Tesiree Priti, with the trio having made their first appearance together in Puro Hotel's Habitacion 12 event this spring. Now that they've recorded their first release which will be available on Puro Music this summer, the lucky fans of the Puro music culture will be treated to this special add on, with the hit song Body & Soul as well as 4 other songs such as Faith, and Cupid's Arrow, all packed into the mobile listening format of a USB drive.

It's a mix package to fall in love to, not much different from the nomadic and cosmopolitan beachside locations themselves, making 'Purobeach : The Global Adventure' the perfect gift or take home or share, infused with the feeling and musical talent that has made Puro the homebase of Spain's most talented DJ/Producers and musicians.

Innovative duo Catz 'n Dogz have payed homage to the iconic Marlena Shaw vocal from 'Woman Of The Ghetto' by remixing the track with hard-hitting rhythm and a welcomed dose of acid.

In their own words, Catz 'n Dogz describe how the vocal is easily recognizable due to the St.Germain record ‘Rose Rouge’, but some may not be aware that the original hook is from a live performance by Marlene Shaw. 

“It’s been sampled by a lot of other people like Bob Sinclar, Grandmaster Flash and the famous 90s hit from Blue Boy. We have a lot of memories with this vocal because we were growing up in the 90s. That’s why we decided to do our take on this one. The first time we played it on a big festival we were shocked how well it works… That’s why we decided to release it officially."

In 2019 Oliver Dollar made his Classic Music Company debut with the incredible 14-track collection Another Day Another Dollar. The album was an adventurous artistic statement, showing off a wider breadth and depth of sound than ever before, and was received with critical acclaim. Now three of the stand out tracks from the album get the remix treatment from some of Classic’s nearest and dearest. Opening the release, Classic founder Luke Solomon and the sparkling Honey Dijon come together to remix one of the stand out cuts, ‘John’s Church’. Originally produced in collaboration with German producer Nils Ohrmann, the pair intensify the steamy, gospel-tinged track, lacing in atmospheric keys and tension-building drops that take the dancefloor number to new dimensions. Up next, Snatch records founder Riva Starr drops his remix of ‘Crusader’, featuring Jason Hodges. Illustrating Riva’s signature dancefloor focused style, this transformative remix moves away from the stripped-back original, with a rolling bass and deep, swelling pads. Finally, Kelly G. delivers his Defected Dub of ‘The Delta’ to round off the release, taking the dreamy piano house of the vocal-led original and making it club friendly, with a bassline you can’t help but groove to.
