This song was a collaboration between the late decorated Vietnam veteran Matt Ktitzer and I. Matt wrote these lyrics to his girlfriend while he spent the night in a foxhole on a battlefield in Vietnam.

One of my (now deceased) best friends, Matt Kritzer, wrote these lyrics about  returning home a "hero" from the jungles of Vietnam in 1969.
