Julian Tillery - Embracing the Spirit of Rock

Chicago-based Producer, Songwriter, and Musician Julian Tillery draws his inspiration from the timeless energy of rock music. From the pioneering sounds of Bo Diddley and Chuck Berry to the iconic melodies of the Beatles and Bon Jovi, and from the raw passion of Lenny Kravitz and Ben Harper to the soulful intensity of Ritchie Havens and Jeff Buckley, Julian's musical influences span the spectrum of rock's rich history. For him, it's all about capturing the essence of rock and delivering an emotive experience that captivates listeners and provokes profound thought.

Born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Julian's musical journey began at an early age. He delved into the world of music by studying piano at the tender age of 5, followed by violin at 6. Julian's parents played a pivotal role in shaping his musical tastes, exposing him to a wide range of genres from the soulful sounds of Sam Cooke to the anthemic rock of Bon Jovi.

Julian's musical career took flight as he became one-third of the eclectic rock unit Us!, a captivating acoustic band that featured the unique combination of Julian's talents alongside Okorie Johnson (Okcello) on cello and John Reed on drums. The band embarked on a tour with the Groovement/Earthseed Collective, showcasing their enchanting performances in Atlanta and other major cities.

Fuelled by his experiences and fortified by his artistic growth, Julian's journey led him to join the ranks of the Soul/Hip-Hop Band Mama's Moonshine as their skillful guitarist. It was within this musical context that Julian found the courage to forge his own path as a solo artist. Establishing JETSound Productions, he embarked on a remarkable solo career.

In 2013, Julian Tillery unveiled his first full-length project, 'The Ocean on Mars,' a striking embodiment of his creative vision. This release served as the catalyst for his musical evolution, and in 2016, he followed it up with 'Songs from the Bottom Up,' a captivating EP that marked the beginning of his current project.

Presenting 'Red Electric,' Julian Tillery's latest endeavor, he invites audiences into a sonic realm that blends rock, pop, soul, and alternative influences into a tapestry of captivating melodies and thought-provoking lyrics. 'Red Electric' represents the culmination of Julian's artistic growth, showcasing his mastery of diverse genres and his unwavering dedication to crafting a truly immersive musical experience.

With a rich musical palette and a passion for creating music that resonates deeply, Julian Tillery continues to push the boundaries of rock, forging his own path while paying homage to the legends who paved the way.
