Originally created from a file in Logic Pro 9 that was a cover of "Fever" (version of Peggy Lee). Teacher Freeman (aka Cole Hieke) suggested changing the midi drums into an entirely new instrument which you now hear playing. With some minor tweaks and a new drum beat, the song became something different entirely.

Gateway is the first single off of my upcoming album, "YOLO: An Album about Death". It's a really different sound for me, blending folk, hip-hop, pop, and country. Hip-hop and folk country are my two favorite genres so it's fitting that the rap bridge here is over a country walking beat.
