ROIRO Mix Series #004 - MAYUDEPTH

DJ and producer based in Tokyo.
She starts a full-scale music production under the new project MAYUDEPTH name in 2016.
She is a resident and curator of the queer party "MOTORPOOL”.

"I have selected and compiled lo-fi techno, industrial, fast electro and breakbeats from diverse backgrounds. The combination of imagination and rebellion, function and spirit, while maintaining a groove, is a universal theme in my musical expression."

A multi-capable DJ and dawless live performer, Mark Shephard’s style is defined by a
preference for rough drum machine grooves and thick analog synth lines. The hallmarks of his
mixing style are transparent, interactive blends and creative sequencing of subgenres.
After studying sound design and synthesis in college, Mark honed his DJ skills in the clubs and
basements of Brooklyn before relocating to Tokyo in 2022. Currently he is an organizer of the
Acid Gakkou party in Shibuya, frequent guest DJ at Circus Tokyo for the Ensite series of parties,
and performs live regularly in Tokyo with hardware drum machines and synthesizers.

ROIRO Mix Series #006 - Mark Shephard

“ROIRO” releases the compilation album “MANUAL” composed by 7 tokyo-based techno producers to celebrate the label’s 1st anniversary from “ROIRO Electronics”.

From ROIRO those three, “Golpe Mortal” who agitates the dance floor with a sharp percussion and a heavy groove, “KOSEI” who bouncily spins modern, uptempo and powerful beats, “the2$” who plays out an unique view of the world with a juicy bass sound and a disturbing melody with a sense of tension, are joining this VA.
Moreover, including four artists, “AKIRA FLAMMA” who mixes emotional and ravey sampling/collage with melancholy synthesizers and intense beats, “Jiho” who leads to the trip by minimally repeating layers of inorganic sounds, “MAYUDEPTH” who presents an alternative techno coexisted with a deep sound image and dirtiness, “ROTTENLAVA Ⅱ” who drives your passion with rough yet melancholic riffs and coldly repeated beats, a total of 7 producers, created this VA.
The piece which represents the Tokyo techno scene now has been created by the resonance of seven sensibilities.

mu"he has built an unquestionable reputation as a multi-genre DJ with the versatility to both build up a room and command the peak hours of a rave.
Based in Berlin since May 2023, mu”he has been quickly booking appearances at some of Berlin’s best clubs and festivals across Europe–most notably: 
Lunchmeat Festival, Whole Festival, Berlin Atonal, Jera on Air, and an array of Berlin clubs including ://about blank, OXI, and Tresor.
With a range encompassing styles from techno and trance to hardcore, jungle, and footwork, mu"he deftly weaves across the BPM spectrum, 
unafraid to intersperse tough physical grooves with moments of dance floor euphoria.

This set is the one when mu"he played on the main floor at main time at the party which was held at a secret venue in Berlin.
it starts from deep techno and goes to leftfield techno, groovy and hard minimal.

PERGO has a great talent for giving a massive groove to the dance floor by mixing the essence of Chicago/Detroit in a funky and melodic way with his unique sense. He performed at Unlocked x BCCO, FABRIC, MOOG, HÖR and so on in recent years and has been giving new inspirations to the techno scene in Europe. Also, His label "Drei Vinyl" has been attracting lots of attentions from worldwide DJs by releasing tracks by Glenn Wilson, Thomas P. Heckmann, DJ SHUFFLEMASTER, Ryuji Takeuchi and, above all, his first ever EP "PIENSA MIENTRAS BAILAS". His unique groove will color the audience's physical desires and set the dance floor on fire.
