Roi Visions is No stranger to the pains of life Unfortunately not ready to give up the “party life”, Darius’s mother would give away her rights shortly after his birth losing contact with her son for several years before reaching out to meet him only to disappear once more soon after. Confused and hurt his feelings of anger and abandonment would turn to poetry in a notebook as Dariaus would turn to it for his expression.

 

Being raised in the state of Maryland an only child Roi would spend his early childhood alone writing and memorizing music.

 

Mostly raised by his grandmother who was the secretary for the Pastor; Dariaus would spend most of his early life in Church singing in the choir and playing the left over instruments unknowingly setting the foundation for his dreams later in life.

 

As time passed his couping mechanism became coupled with his love for music...

 

Almost 10 years after his mother disappeared, she would once again reach out to him; this time offering him a chance to live with her and “reconnect”. Though advised against the decision, his heart was set. He accepted her offer where he would move to a small town in the southwest area of Virginia. Dariaus would be starting Highschool in a completely new state.

From Cleveland OH to Atlanta GA and now residing San Diego, my mission as a beatmaker/producer is to make  incredible music, nothing more, nothing less.

An excerpt from a profile written on my roots in the rap game by my day one Alex Gold:

"In the beginning of writing as Rezzy, Stein was having a ton of fun, releasing songs like “Wildin Out”, “It’s My Time”, and “Don’t Get In My Way,” which have a decidedly upbeat sound. Stein describes this side of his music as his ‘turn up’ tracks, which he thinks people enjoy because it reminds them of what they encounter in the top charts or at parties, but it’s not what builds true fans in his mind.  

More recently, Stein has worked tirelessly to incorporate more of his personality into his music, even if that means some darker tunes. One week ago, he published two albums with seven songs each, Wabi Sabi and Meraki, to demonstrate the duality in his life between the good times with great friends and the inner turmoil that he faces on a day-to-day basis. In Meraki, Stein conveys the struggles he’s experienced personally, but also that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. In the song “Hope”, he brought in two singers to belt the chorus:

There’s still hope for you and me/ there’s still hope that we could be/ everything we wanted and dreamed/ we gon’ make it through as a team

	The music’s message is meant to reach and resonate with people who are also in a tough spot. Although Stein does want to have some level of fame, so that he can make music as a career, it isn’t the money or the Billboard charts that interest him. He toils for hours in his homemade studio day after day because he loves the grind. Even though he’s in the early stages of his career, with his first live performance approaching, he knows that it will all be worth it if he develops a following that cares about his music because of his original voice and not some image that a record label wants to portray. 

	'A year and a half ago I dedicated a song to a friend who was in the dumps and it seemed to positively affect him,” Stein said. “A couple of weeks ago, I sent him the finished version (which was on Meraki) and he told me he cried. Fame is cool, but if my music can have that effect on people, that’s the goal.'
