Hardstyle evolved from 90's Hardcore, Hard Trance and Harhouse, first "Hardstyle sounding" tracks I found was from 1998. First hard and powerfull reverse bass, famous from many tracks was in 'First Step' By Hennes & Cold produced in 1999.
