You can tell that Simkid is a proper funk soul brother having being influenced by his drummer dad and blending all things funky into his music. „Higher ground“ is a monster of a house track, almost unbearable energy with loads of 90´s virtues. Did you ask for a piano riff….? Don’t blame us if that vocal won’t leave your brain. „Ain´t no fun“ has one of the most serious baselines that we’ve heard for a looooong time and rides on a hip hoppy vibe.
