How to deconstruct a bicycle into sine- and cosine waves? Real-time spectral analysis, FFT, IFFT, spectral blurring, phase and frequency shifts of bicycle sounds are constructing a three dimensional sonic world whereby different algorithms produce a trajectory as a journey in stages.

I'm sure you would be happy to know that this track was created entirely automatically, with a robotic auditory apparatus making the decisions. Writing this programme note on behalf of Autocousmatic (http://www.sussex.ac.uk/Users/nc81/autocousmatic.html), whose work it is, I must confess not to have listened myself to the input material, and only taken its first generated output, for fear of cherry picking. Thomas Seelig hat seine tFX (jetzt LSD) für Komponisten geschaffen, die Effekte in großem Umfang benötigen. Herausgekommen ist dabei eine Art Universalwerkzeug.
Mehrere Player, acht Wiedergabekanäle, herkömmliche Effekte wie Echo und Hall, aber auch Transposition und Zeitmanipulationen wie Stauchung und Dehnung sind möglich. Neuerdings in Entwicklung: Eine Video-Sektion. Mit zunehmender Rechnerentwickung werden die Möglicheiten auch noch größer werden. Das Schöne: Für tFX braucht man eine Einarbeitungszeit, aber kein Studium.
