Giorgio Moroder - First hand experience in second hand love (Rolfski-edit)

This is the long version of a funk trip made on drugs in the 70's by the Brazilian Godfather of Soul who died in1998. He actually destroyed the master tapes of the whole album attached to it, hoping this brilliant monumental music would not survive, but actually resulting in a re-release mastered directly from the vinyl album in 2005. In reality, I've seen whole crowds lining up in circle and holding each other's hands when I spinned this record. Believe me, it's just thát brilliant.... 


I uploaded it in order to ask people for support to get back http://soundcloud.com/groups/deep-disco that was accidently deleted by Soundcloud.

When it comes to disco editing there are only a few real legends walking around on this planet. Greg Wilson (Soundcloud profile: http://soundcloud.com/gregwilson) is one of them. Being there right from the start (the first British DJ to mix live on national television in 1983), this men shaped the UK disco & electro scene single handedly. 

Celebrating our 1000th community member, Greg gave his special permission to share this great edit of the Rockers Revenge classic exclusively to the Soundcloud Deep Disco community. It's an never issued extended version of the edit that appeared on his legendary Credit to the Edit album in 2005.

The story of Starlost is the story of an ugly duck becoming a beautiful swan. This track singlehandedly delayed the deepdisco ep release for more than a half year, only because the people behind it so thoroughly believed in it. It sounded completely horrible at first but you could feel the rough diamond was there. After tons of sweat and blood it’s finally there: an ace track that probably will grow on you because every time you listen to it seems like you discover new sounds, like the live bass playing. Tantra - Hills Of Katmandu (Hot Tracks Mix)

One of the most epic disco tracks ever made and the best Patrick Cowley record no one has heard of! Massive stuff, be sure not to miss the 9:00 mark.
This is a very, very rare pressing which is slightly different from, but way better then his Megamix of this track. I'm still looking for this particular original source material to make a proper quality re-edit. For now, I upped it a bit and extended only the intro a bit, making it a bit more dj-friendly. Expect an re-edit of this track in one of my upcoming mixes.

Tantra - The hills of Katmandu (Patrick Cowley rare remix)

It took me 15 years to track down this one! I heard this garage style dub disco track back in 1985 and I was sold instantly!
The man behind it is was the then famous "Use me, loose me" Paul Simpson.

Most people here know me as the creator/ promotor of http://soundcloud.com/groups/deep-disco. Call it a genre, conspiracy, movement: It's something I truly believe in.

I'm a product of the eighties (although born way before that) and a sucker for undergound disco and space funk.
I have been collecting and mixing music since the days of Greg Wilson and Ben Liebrand and was right there at the start of Nu Disco way before Daft Punk.
I've only one mission in life: discotize this beautiful planet!
