Hydra is the second release in a series of collaborations called Assimilarity, this time a joint venture between the Dice and Maestro Allessandro Cortini.

" The whole idea came about following the successful collaboration between ourselves and Pär Grindvik on our track 'Buried' at the end of last year. What started out as curiosity about what could happen if outside input was brought into the process, turned into the feeling that this could be further explored by maybe turning it into a project and a series of releases. We have reached out to different artists that we like and that we feel we have a kindred spirit with in our approach to music, and we will put these tracks out individually throughout the year. To make sure that all these different tracks with different collaborations don't feel too apart from each other we have asked London based Brazilian artist Fabio Almeida (who was Malcolm's flatmate in London in the 90s) if we could use some of his work as artwork for the different covers. Fabio has picked out a set of images that have a common thread but also stand on their own, which is also the way Fabio sees his creative process. For us this kind of sums up the project in a nice way. Together but apart.

Works synthesized and processes pursued by Sphinx Dance often relate to contemporary art & dance as scopes, as well as ancient rituals, practices, statues, symbolism, and even esotericism and occultism at times. Sphinx Dance do not limit itself by genres or media, or even a type of audience; and rather continuously deconstruct and reconstruct notions of time and its perception, with sonic & bodily experiences that they synthesize.

Audiodélica es un nombre que unifica una multiplicidad de experiencias más cercanas a un proyecto de investigación que a lo que comúnmente se entiende como un grupo de rock.

Audiodélica opera, entonces, construyendo y documentando una serie de experiencias con el material sonoro. 

Existe un primer período de trabajo, comprendido entre los años 1993 y 1998, centrado en la investigación del sampler como dispositivo de captura, reordenamiento y transformación de fragmentos sonoros. Este primer período está registrado en el cdr doble “1993-1998” [pxcd003]

El segundo período de trabajo, iniciado en 1999 y actualmente en curso, se propone investigar sucesivamente una serie de procedimientos generativos delimitados de manera estricta. La herramienta de trabajo central en este período es la computadora. El registro de algunas de estas experiencias puede encontrarse en “ep/1: procesos aleatorios” [pxcd013] y “ep/2: síntesis granular” [pxcd015].

El trabajo colaborativo realizado en el 2001 con el ruidista porteño Pablo Reche quedó registrado en Música de tormentas (2001).
