Johnny Manchild and the Poor Bastards is an American multi-genre ensemble founded by Johnny Manchild (composition, production, vocals, keys). Since its founding in 2016, the band took the internet by storm, with a unique conundrum of jazz idioms, ska, alt-rock, world music, and funk that prompted even Anthony Fantano himself (known as “The Only Music Critic Who Matters” by the NYT) ask “what gives them the right to be this good? ”

The Bastards have since answered that question, drawing from a dedicated and thriving fanbase that is bound together by a deep love of music, lyricism, engineering and sonic exploration. From their hometown of Oklahoma City to the global stage, each release has been a marked discovery not just for the fans, but the Poor Bastards themselves. 

With 25+ million streams, 4 albums, and new sonic horizons to be crossed, the Poor Bastards have morphed into a collective of sorts with as many as 10 collaborators (affectionately “Bastards”) in regular rotation, with Johnny Manchild at the helm.

I have been producing music for little over 6 years. Making sampled hip hop beats under the name Ghost Night which you can find on here as well. I have made 8 full length, all original hip hop instrumental albums by myself and have decided to try my hand at something a little different. I draw on mostly The Postal Service for inspiration and other synth pop music to get ideas for some of this new stuff, I have been listening to them for quite some time and have always wanted to try making some symphonic pop music. So, I give you Clip. A project a few years in the making as I have been reluctant to release any of this stuff. And now I finally feel comfortable enough to let you all hear it. I hope you like what you hear and always feel free to leave me some feedback, I will be sure to do the same.

Hookup, based out of Oklahoma City, OK, is a coming together of several different stylistic backgrounds to form a uniquely enjoyable, alt-pop unit. 

Formed in January 2019, the band blends influences spanning the spectrum of genres such as psychedelic, pop, indie, rock, emo, hiphop, & singer-songwriter. The output is catchy, hook-drenched tunes that hit you in the soul and get you moving to the beat. 

The group, self-produced, is currently in the studio working on their debut full-length release - with several single releases planned for the coming months. Expect to see a lot more of Hookup in the near future.
