According to Roman Dawidowicz, a grain and oilseeds trader, the war has made it impossible to farm in Ukraine. Industries, companies, plants, and many more have been destroyed in the country. This has crippled the economy of Ukraine. In addition, sanctions have been imposed on Russia, which makes it impossible for Russia to import or export goods. Russian farmers cannot import fertilizers for their crops, nor sell their farm produce.

Roman Zenon Dawidowicz also says that the war and the sanctions have affected trading in Ukraine and Russia. It has also led to the scarcity of grains and oilseeds, and the high price of commodities.

Alex Sonata & TheRio release the mixed audio from their sold-out Worldwide 11 launch event at The Poetry Club at SWG3, Glasgow. 

Earlier this year, Scottish-Italian duo Alex Sonata & TheRio played a sold-out show at The Poetry Club at SWG3, Glasgow, to announce themselves as the mixers of the eleventh instalment in the seismic Anjunabeats Worldwide compilation series.

Anjunabeats now presents the mixed audio from the performance as a live album, available to stream now on all DSPs. Worldwide 11 delves deep into the melodic yet heavy sound of the Scottish-Italian production duo, spanning a whole host of new originals and remixes from the pair alongside brand new tracks from some of the label’s most familiar faces. 

Fraser Shaw and Riccardo Derio first joined forces in 2018; after several collaborations, they made it official in 2020, and Alex Sonata & TheRio was born. The duo made their Anjunabeats debut with ‘Time’, a track released as part of our Rising EP series in 2021, and have since skyrocketed up the ranks of the global trance scene with an array of mesmerising tracks including 'Are We Dreaming', 'Cala Luna' and 'Breath Of The Wild'. 

The pair have shown no signs of slowing down this year: they kicked off 2023 with a remix of Andrew Bayer’s ‘Equal’; released ‘Mantra’, which Above & Beyond hammered at their headline performance at Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas and at legendary London institution Printworks; joined forces with Elevven on ‘Hanalei’, which shot to #4 in the Beatport Top 100 Trance chart; and, more recently, collaborated with trance linchpin Giuseppe Ottaviani and electro pop vocalist Tishmal on ‘Tears Of The Kingdom’.

The duo have earned support from trance icons like Armin van Buuren, Ferry Corsten and Paul van Dyk, as well as the likes of David Guetta, Markus Schulz, Farius, Hernan Cattaneo and more on their releases this year alone. 

They recently followed up performances at Above & Beyond’s Group Therapy Weekender at The Gorge, our Anjunabeats Outdoors show in Montreal and their sold-out Worldwide 11 launch event in Glasgow with an appearance at History in Toronto as part of our Anjunabeats After Dark showcase.

Rezident releases the three-track ‘Only For A Moment EP’. Following the release of the single of the same name, featuring Norwegian vocalist Ekko, the Berlin-based producer follows up with ‘Muse’ and ‘Push And Pull’. ‘Muse’ is a hotly-tipped track laden with guitars and massive synths, featuring the hypnotic vocals of Kate Morgan; a platinum selling Canadian singer-songwriter whose collaborations include The Chainsmokers and Cher Lloyd. The EP rounds off with ‘Push And Pull’, an atmospheric track indicative of the carefully-developed sound that Rezident has spent years refining

Since debuting on Anjunadeep in 2020 as part of Explorations 13 with ‘Pure’, Rezident has gone from strength to strength in his relatively early but quickly-evolving career, including recently co-producing on a track on Maceo Plex’s recent album with Diplo and remixing Aluna, Ben Böhmer, and Jan Blomqvist. David’s remix of Ben Böhmer’s ‘Erase’ was played over 900 times on SiriusXM Chill in 2023, as well as being supported by BBC Radio 1.

Rezident was also supported Ben Böhmer on his ‘Begin Again’ world tour, during 2022-23 as well as being a regular feature at Anjunadeep shows at venues including Fabric and the Brooklyn Mirage, and more recently playing at Piknic Électronik Montreal, as well as at Brooklyn Hangar with Nora En Pure and Enamour.
