[SUB002] - Sound Synthesis - Sonic Transmissions EP (Submersive Underground)

Building on a string of single releases in 2024, ROMsets is set to end the year in sublime fashion with new single, “In-limit,” the lead track from his forthcoming "Opt1zm" EP. “In-limit" finds ROMsets expanding his sonic palette with lush, atmospheric textures, drawing on Final Fantasy-style synths and Zelda-inspired percussion loops. Minimal yet evocative, the track retains ROMsets' distinctive sound while exploring fresh, optimistic themes.

Alice Austin is a London-born music journalist who learnt to mix shortly after moving to Tel Aviv because she wanted to hear more breaks, bass and dubstep. That’s exactly what she’s delivered in this mix, with the  first half combining percussive, wubby bass with UK breaks and a bit of grime. Then come the dubstep heaters, followed by some cheeky UK house and ending on an emotive hyper-pop note. 
Alice writes for Mixmag, RA, Beatportal and many other magazines and for three years was a resident on Berlin-based radio station Refuge Worldwide. She's played her cracked out dubby break-heavy bass selections to audiences at Phi Garden, teder.fm, Soho Radio, Kabareet, Pacotek, Les Mirabilia and many others, bringing a distinct UK flavour to all her sets.

San Francisco-based dub techno imprint Alt Dub serve up their second platter in the form of a split extended player from Echospace Detroit label boss Stephen Hitchell aka cv313 and Alt Dub boss Federsen. Pressed on heavy-weight 180g marble vinyl, ‘Sequential Space‘ EP delivers two solo tracks and two dub interpretations from each producer resulting in four dub techno weapons of the highest fidelity from the two artists. Dark, deep and trippy; Ukrainian producer shjva takes us on a voyage to the centre of reality.

A mysterious craft drifts dormant through the void. Glitchy breaks and twinkly synths blink into motion as systems initialise, preparing for the final approach to the Metazone.

Polycaste engines throb in the background whilst control panels bleep rhythmically, trippy arps ensue.

The craft lurches into motion, astral synths flash by the viewing port as the bassline sunders reality. You Must Let it Go.

Final approach to the Metazone, Eversines remix. Instruments spin and bleepy wildly. Dark 303s distort spacetime. The craft grinds to a halt.

We have arrived.

Our VTD digital series seems to have naturally gravitated towards darker tones more suited for the late night, and we’re really happy to continue that theme with this this release which is deep, trippy and cerebral in equal parts.
