Kicking off 2024 with a super exciting collab here from house music hero Low Steppa and Tony Romera, who is shaping up to be one of the most exiting up and coming prospects on the circuit. Low Steppa enjoyed an incredible 2023 with sold out shows all over the world and releases on key imprints such as Defected, Armada and his own Simma Black.

Off the back of his overall Beatport #1 with us last year, Tony recently signed into a 5 single deal with Toolroom and is a huge priority for the label, he is rapidly climbing the ranks with solid releases on Solotoko and Black Book and has a US tour alongside fellow up and coming Toolroom talent, Crusy, already penned for next Summer.

His journey began amidst the trance and techno wave of the late '90s, quickly transitioning to HOUSE music, where he found his true passion. Beyond that, he ventures into the eclectic with his "Funmix" series on SoundCloud, blending genres from trap to drum 'n' bass, showcasing his versatility and innovative spirit.
With his subtle presence, he communicates his love for music through carefully curated sets and a sneaky smirk once in a while. He challenges the monotony of single-genre sets with his signature style of dynamic transitions and diverse sounds. He creates moments of unexpected joy to keep the dance floor alive and unpredictable.

With the opening of the Kunstkantine in 2001, he introducing a varied music palette to Magdeburg's then hip-hop and R'n'B-dominated nightlife. 

Just Etienne operates his club, Kunstkantine & Datsche, with immense passion and dedication, investing his whole life into creating a space that embodies the essence of musical and cultural diversity. When I heard the song "Die Tänzerin" – a German pop song by Ulla Meinecke and Edo Zanki –  on the radio for the first time, it felt like a warm storm: the lyrics, Ullas voice, the unique sound of the Yamaha GS-1 synthesizer and thestripped down and unpolishedlive-vibe of the one-take recording from 1983 was just overwhelming. Right the next day I went to the studio, took some samples, played with the vocals, added some drums andother elements.

It didn't work out since I wanted to do a typical edit and everything I did to the vocal parts just sounded wrong.

Maybe a vocal remix will be a project for the future... Since then, I worked on my instrumental remix every once in a while for over a year. Now you can listen to it here and get your free download on Hypeddit for just some digital love. Who wants to have full wav/flac/aiff quality, and wants to buy my next beer can use Bandcamp! Enjoy! Born in East Germany, Ronald KOON's first musical passion was almost exclusively Michael Jackson. In the late 1990s, he discovered French electronic music, which was then becoming popular in the charts. After many nights of partying in clubs and festivals as an enthusiastic partygoer, he first stood behind the decks in a club in 2007, back then still with vinyls. Later, he and his crew organized a legendary party series in his hometown for many years, which was dedicated to French electro of the late 2000s, the "French Kiss". He then increasingly devoted himself to disco and other electronic sounds of the 1970s and 1980s and began producing his own music.
Ronald's sets, which are heavy on edits and presented with eclectic energy, are a mixture of classic and contemporary disco and house. The varied repertoire between jackin', soulful, funky and a touch of UK is always driving, exciting, danceable, always good for a surprise, full of heart and never far from the great voices, grooves and melodies of the disco era. His often avant-garde and mostly tongue-in-cheek outfits round off Ronald's presence behind the decks to a lasting experience.
Ronald KOON's releases on smaller international disco and house labels have already received some attention in the scene. He is a regular member of the DISCOnnect collective, which organizes its own events and publishes a monthly DJ podcast.
