Regular visitors to this page should need no introduction to the respected London-based label, and with the album packing a whopping 26 tracks, there's certainly no space to give you a full blow-by-blow rundown: suffice to say that whether you're a fan of sparkling boogie nouveau, sumptuous string-drenched disco, deep 'n' groovy house, headnoddin' Balearica or any combination thereof, this is a comp you're gonna want to check for. Standouts for yours truly include Kiosko 33's Chuck Roberts-biting 'Theory Of House' and Kristoff MX's 'Funk With Me', but you'll find your own I'm sure...

Kicking off 2024 with a super exciting collab here from house music hero Low Steppa and Tony Romera, who is shaping up to be one of the most exiting up and coming prospects on the circuit. Low Steppa enjoyed an incredible 2023 with sold out shows all over the world and releases on key imprints such as Defected, Armada and his own Simma Black.

Off the back of his overall Beatport #1 with us last year, Tony recently signed into a 5 single deal with Toolroom and is a huge priority for the label, he is rapidly climbing the ranks with solid releases on Solotoko and Black Book and has a US tour alongside fellow up and coming Toolroom talent, Crusy, already penned for next Summer.
 
This record is a straight up, no nonsense club track with an infectious vocal that’s already garnering support from heavyweight DJ’s such as Dom Dolla, Dombresky and John Summit.

Beyond that, he ventures into the eclectic with his "Funmix" series on SoundCloud, blending genres from trap to drum 'n' bass, showcasing his versatility and innovative spirit.
With his subtle presence, he communicates his love for music through carefully curated sets and a sneaky smirk once in a while. He challenges the monotony of single-genre sets with his signature style of dynamic transitions and diverse sounds. He creates moments of unexpected joy to keep the dance floor alive and unpredictable.

With the opening of the Kunstkantine in 2001, he introducing a varied music palette to Magdeburg's then hip-hop and R'n'B-dominated nightlife.

Born in East Germany, Ronald KOON's first musical passion was almost exclusively Michael Jackson. In the late 1990s, he discovered French electronic music, which was then becoming popular in the charts. After many nights of partying in clubs and festivals as an enthusiastic partygoer, he first stood behind the decks in a club in 2007, back then still with vinyls. Later, he and his crew organized a legendary party series in his hometown for many years, which was dedicated to French electro of the late 2000s, the "French Kiss". He then increasingly devoted himself to disco and other electronic sounds of the 1970s and 1980s and began producing his own music.
Ronald's sets, which are heavy on edits and presented with eclectic energy, are a mixture of classic and contemporary disco and house. The varied repertoire between jackin', soulful, funky and a touch of UK is always driving, exciting, danceable, always good for a surprise, full of heart and never far from the great voices, grooves and melodies of the disco era. His often avant-garde and mostly tongue-in-cheek outfits round off Ronald's presence behind the decks to a lasting experience.
Ronald KOON's releases on smaller international disco and house labels have already received some attention in the scene. He is a regular member of the DISCOnnect collective, which organizes its own events and publishes a monthly DJ podcast.
