Defected is proud to revisit the legendary Todd Edwards catalogue on the third instalment of House Masters Remixes with a remix from Southampton producer Biscits. Released in 2021, Todd’s original compilation demonstrated his approach to experimentation in its full glory; his entirely new sound, born from chopped up samples and vocal clips, helped birth the UK Garage genre while giving the American-born producer major underground credibility. Ever since those pioneering releases in the 90s, Todd has continued to inspire artists around the world, artists like Biscits who gives ‘Perfect Love’ a modern remix built for the club while Todd’s frenetic sampling remains at the fore.

We are immensely proud to be releasing this record. Following the tragic news that legendary US vocalist Kathy Brown is fighting stage 4 cancer, we wanted to give something back to an artist who musically we have all grown up with, and respect greatly. With that in mind, we have decided to release this record with all profits going to Kathy’s ‘GoFundMe’ campaign to help pay for her health care fees. All the original writers have allocated all publishing earnings, with the artists and Toolroom also pledging all of their royalties, in the quest to get Kathy back on the road to a full recovery. The record itself oozes fun and good times, which is what Kathy’s music has always been about.
