An added bonus is how they engage with the wider dance music world in supporting the good stuff yet having zero fear of calling out nonsense when required. “UK veterans Posthuman are cousins Josh Doherty & Richard Bevan.
Spearheads of the UK Acid House scene alongside the likes of Ceephax Acid Crew, Paranoid London, Luke Vibert and Jerome Hill. They duo are residents & bosses at clubnight & vinyl-only label ‘I Love Acid’ – well over a hundred parties since 2007 in London, plus regular events (until Covid…) across the UK: Manchester, Leeds, Bristol, Liverpool, Plymouth, Edinburgh, Sheffield, and Glasgow - and in Europe; Antwerp, Ghent, Berlin, Dublin, Barcelona, Lille, as well as their annual summer party in Malta, and guest stages at festivals like Bloc Weekend and Bangface. ‘I Love Acid’ won DJ Magazine’s Best British Club Event award in 2019

The end of 2018 saw them release their album “Mutant City Acid” on double random-coloured vinyl, the first ever fully randomised colour pressing – over 100 different colour combinations. The entire album pressing was livestreamed via video online, also a world first. The album sold out it’s entire vinyl (and cassette) run in just a couple of weeks – it joined a long list of Posthuman releases to sell out on vinyl.
Their signature sound of raw acid house and slo-mo moody techno has been released on Lobster Theremin, X-Kalay, Tusk Wax, Dixon Avenue Basement Jams, B12, Chiwax, Shipwrec, Craigie Knowes, Food Music, plus their own imprints Balkan Vinyl & I Love Acid. 
Posthuman’s shows are often live/DJ hybrid, varying from DJ sets to full on hardware shows with 101, 303, 606, 808, 909 action – expect a jacked up mix of hardware jams spliced with acid house edits, sometimes featuring live vocals from singer Josh Caffe, and regular back to back DJ sets with Hacienda resident & acid house legend Jon Dasilva”

Growing up in UK during the middle of the Acid House craze late 80's, Jaime Read was influenced by the early Chicago, Detroit and New York sounds which his sister would play. The 'Capital' rap show with Mike Allen was instrumental in showing Jaime some of the hottest underground sounds like Cybotron 'R9' & Jam on it by Newcleus mixed with now classic hip hop. Listening to pirate radio stations like 'Friends FM', 'Fantasy', and his personal favourite 'Smart Boys FM' were instrumental in his early days. It was only inevitable that when he got his first bit of equipment himself, Jaime had to have a go at it himself. As the mid-90s moved on, Jaime first released music on strong labels like 10th Planet under the name Wookie as well as his first full length release on Fragmented Records named 'The End of the Beginning'. Around that time, Jaime introduced his own 'Push to Shove' imprint releasing under the name LHAS inc. for which he was a founding member of with Felix Dickinson.

Some say Jaime is the ideal mix between house and techno styles. The perfect blend of two of the most beloved versions of dance music. With nearly 30 releases under this name (and some that are not credited to Jaime - such as the Joe Lewis Story), each release has hit near legendary status. Key releases like the 2010 EP named 'Never the Future' on Elektrosouls Recordings or the unique 'On the Beaches' on the revered Golf Channel label in 2015 which had Jaime showing his versatility with some unique styles. In the past 5 years Jaime's many of his classic material has been reissued like the most recent 'Hevalo 2021 Edition' on Push to Shove. His last all-new material found its way to the Vinyl Underground label just last year simply named 'EP'. The future is looking bright as Jaime assures us that he has lots of new material ready to be released so make sure you follow his Bandcamp page. 
You can trust anything Jaime is involved will be pure class. Jaime doesn't get as many opportunities to DJ as some others but if you get a chance to hear him out you are in for a treat. He is one of the UK's best DJ's you never heard of and always rocks a party!!! (As this mix clearly does!). We are glad to have Jaime make a Chubby! podcast exclusive mix for us.
This one is guaranteed to get you dancing! It pays respect to some classy sounds of the past while working up some newer and lesser-known futuristic track vibes. Masterfully mixed, it will have you surfing on sine waves.

Fierce Collective's mission is to support and promote womxn and nb DJs. This month our guest is DJ/producer Shauna from Leeds. 
Shauna is part of the London-based DJ collective SISU and her eclectic sets mix everything from house, techno, jungle and breaks to footwork and club sounds. She released her debut EP Original Workout in November 2020 via Hull-based Interpolate Records, which was supported by Radio 1 Introducing Dance. She currently has a monthly residency on Manchester's Steam Radio with her show Liquid Orange.

Warsaw-based HALOPOPIERDOL collective (@halkoooo) debuts in our mix series with a set from dj, producer and bassist @darnokkk. He initially entered the world of electronic and club music as a fan of hip hop, punk, metal, hardcore as well as jazz and funk. His productions now mostly revolve around techno, breaks, electro and experimental music. Darnok's mixing style is characterised by a clash of club sounds and hip hop and often incorporates turntablist techniques such as scratching – which marks a first for BAS.PODCAST.

RonnieGrafter aka The Plastic Housewife at home and at play, spinning vinyl for self enjoyment. For the record I have NO ego or seek fame or adulation, I'll leave that to the 'names' and those aspiring to such dizzy heights, I wish them all the very best. 

My interests; good music,of varying genres but mostly quality Techno and definitely not samey soulless Acid Techno. I like what I play and play what I like, crossing genres from time to time, regressing to the foundations often and progressing off the beaten track. I must add of late my style has become rather anarchic and full throttle as I ride a relentless incurable medical condition hence my GRAFTER moniker. It's taken me a while to take risks in what I select to play but now, I like to take risks and rile folk, what could possibly go wrong? I am my own worst critic after all!

I've had some requests for collaborations and to play at venues, most have been a waste of my time that is until the tail end of 2015 and 2016 at the much loved 414 in Brixton. I've also had the pleasure of playing at Out of Sync in Poznań by invitation of the Warsaw Torture Boyz. There has also been Don't in 2016 and for a second time in 2017. Don't is easily my favourite London night to party and play at. For now, I'm asked to play for Radio and have gigs in the pipeline health permitting..... 

My skills are average and all that request collaboration are indeed perfectly capable of making something of themselves and continue to do just that. I'm always up for collaborating musically, but please don't approach me if your reasons are for self gratification. For the record, I'm not a DJ, I just play the music I love. Just believe in yourselves people, get on with and most importantly, ENJOY, if I've learnt anything, your enjoyment will be revelled and heard LOUD and CLEAR, also please don't take the sounds so seriously, I play purely for the enjoyment of others which I LOVE to see as serious and focused as I often look! ✌ Xx
