FlowOne and SeboSellout, record collector, dj and producer duo from Nuremberg / Germany are proud to present you their first mixtape “Seven steps for better listening”. 

A more than 75 minutes mayhem of breaks, loops, drums and samples from all over the world, mixed and edited, chopped and looped, cut and pasted. Obscure sounds and rare classics combined with ill scratches, drum edits and modern multitrack recording are providing the prefect mixture for better listening.

Ricardo Paris is a Portuguese-born DJ / record collector based in London. Since the young age of 13, music and record collecting have always been a big part of his life – records were always around the house and playing on his dad’s old Pioneer record player. But it is not until ’95 that Skateboarding, Hip-hop culture and all the jazz/soul sampled tracks became a love in his life and a deep inspiration within his eclectic DJ sets. 

For our October in-store, London DJ and collector Ricardo Paris came through with a selection of Brazilian gems and Latin grooves.

Rainy in São Paulo Mix

It all started with the song "Storm" featuring Edan and Mr Lif on my debut Warner Bros LP The Audiences Listening. The song I sampled was by a french group called Vox Populi. I contacted them and their associates Pacific 231 to hear more material from the same time period. Heres what they gave me. Here is a sneak peak. It will be released officially this winter. Happy Hallows Eve!

Funk Off

Rook Records is Hackney Wick record shop specialising in 2nd hand imports. The shop launched in 2016 initially online, and in 2023 has opened its doors up to the public for the first time. Expect to find jazz, soul, disco, house, rock, reggae and hip hop, with a huge range of US and Japanese imports.

In 2018 we launched Rook Radio, which is a brand new channel for filmed sets from DJs around the world. The channel is strictly DJ focussed, with artists being encouraged to be totally free in their music selection. The result is a collection of mixes in a wide range of genres, joining the dots between world music and dance.
