"Everything started back in early 2014 when I came across the first tracks of Junktion on Outplay", remembers Dairmount with a smile on the face. "I was surprised I never heard of the artist & the label before and as an obsessed discoverer, I had to find out. I quickly got in touch with Hans, Mr Junktion in person and got hooked by the kindness, humility & laid back approach of the man. I found out also that Outplay was their own little labour of love and a few weeks later, their first vinyl release was released. Then came the second strike as I got hooked on the tracks of the mysterious Fouk. Hans quickly confessed that Fouk was the brainchild of his duo with his best friend Daniel Leseman. Not only I became one of their number 1 fans & hammered the tracks in my dj sets & podcasts but i felt I wanted to get to know them in person."

It took till the autumnal Amsterdam vibes of ADE for Phil to meet the boys in person and it didn't take them long to decide to work together. Knowing the high A&R standards of Phil and his appetite for very personal piece of music, it took them them till spring 2015 to submit the first drafts of the Heavy on the Bacon tunes. In the meantime, Fouk were steadily being noticed by other quality imprints such as Local Talk , Fifty Fathoms Deep or Pusic for remixes without forgetting their solo efforts of the highest order as Junktion & Daniel Leseman on Slow Town, Sleazy Beats, Razor'n'Tape or Rose Records. "I remember being happy about the first versions but also having this strong feeling that I could bring them slightly out of their comfort zone. I felt that Heavy On The Bacon could be developed with a stronger live instrumentation feel, reminiscent of a live Disco band, beyond their usual sound signature. Hans & Dan embraced the challenge and we exchanged a lot on mixdown color & arrangement to all be super happy with the final result"
It is no surprise that the track became their first "beyond 6 minutes" track allowing a long and subtle build-up full of catchy verses, chorus, bridges & breaks. A brilliant example of a "live feel" club monster. The second track of the single called Coconuts is a more classic Fouk moment, reminiscent of their recent smash hit Ep Kill Frenzy on Detroit Swindle's Heist with spectacular welcome by critics & listeners alike. Their swing, tasty sampling techniques & love for Jazzy chords are all fuelling the beast and round up another timeless moment on the label.

Danny Worrall‘s Masterworks Music finally gets around to its first physical release and in time for summer no less! For this first EP the label have cherry picked the highlights from their digital compilation and given them the vinyl release they always deserved, alongside a couple of choice unreleased cuts. Booming out of the A1 in a burst of cowbell, laser fire and filter swept magic is Dr Packer's "Sunshine" a block rocking nu disco version of the timeless Rocker's Revenge classic, which incorporates elements of the Vocal, Accapella and Dub mix. On the A2, Yam Who? come through with a deep discoid jam ornamented with tasty flute licks, smooth vocals and airy keys. The original instrumentation and groove is still present and correct, just beefed up by some additional percussion and well aimed frequencies. 
Get Down Edits open the B-side with the steady throb of "Sweet Stuff", a low slung lovers groove with sweet, almost whispered vocals and a killer bassline. It falls to Coutel to close the package out with the cinematic stomp of "Stop That", a superb builder which incorporates elements of Italo, boogie and proto house on the way to its diva vocalled peak! The new label has already released a sturdy batch of modern disco and house music and has upcoming EP's in the pipeline from the likes of Dave Gerrard, Rayko, Queen & Disco and P-Sol to be on the lookout for.

AKASE, the new collaborative project between Harry Agius (better known as Midland) and Robbie Redway, is the latest artist signing to !K7 Records. Formed in Leeds, written in London and finished in Berlin under the influence of Ewan Pearson, "Rust" is the first piece of music to surface from the project.

As Midland, Harry Agius has built a reputation for releasing delicately brilliant bass driven house and techno, and over the course of his various releases he has hinted at a desire to explore sounds away from the dancefloor. Coupled with the songwriting talents and vocals of Robbie Redway, "Rust" delivers on the potential of that exploration.

In addition to the original mix, the "Rust" single includes a Midland remix, which peels back the vocals and adds some dancefloor thrust.

Hello together,
we are Jürgen Graf and Christian Nainggolan.
Both of us have a long standing interest in electronic music in general and electronic dance music in particular. YOKTO tracks are solo creations by myself and some tracks have been done in cooperation with Christian. The studio of YOKTO is sited in my home in the countryside close to the french border in Saarland (Germany).
The first YOKTO EP released on Compost Black can be described as „modern house with vintage attitude!“.
Our second EP released on Lossless was more like "psychedelic, modern house with a touch of class!".
Now, it's on you to describe our third release on Compost Black ;) We find it sounds like "raw, romantic house to the border of techno!".
