"The late 70’s soul and funk hymn “I Think I’ll Do Some Stepping (On My Own)” by New York based singer Sandy Barber got reworked for modern vintage requirements. The original version was featured on Sandy Barber’s album “The Best Is Yet To Come.” from 1978 and it’s reconstruction has been done by Opolopo from Stockholm. The dj and producer from Sweden previously appeared on labels like Swedish Brandy Productions, Local Talk, Tokyo Dawn Records or Ebo Records with modern house sounds and a strong soul affection. His currently released work is a classical edit that breathes the emotive energy of a strong base material but should also delight unprejudiced ears and dancing feet, because the art of editing has been done with a keen sense in here. Slight changes and cuts, as well as decently added sounds straightens the original with its musical complexity and different parts into an ongoing late night disco soul pleasure. Very nice! (Jan) "

Amsterdam based House head Nachtbraker made his first appearance on "Apparel Music" and on Detroit Swindle's infamous HEIST recordings earlier this year with his fantastic "Gute Laune" EP. We are very pleased to welcome him to our Dirt Crew family and to release his new record.

Being best known for his smooth and deep production with jazzy and soulful elements he also added these ingredients carefully in these 4 new tracks. The opening track „Alright“ has this great cathy piano hook that progresses though the whole track and gives us that sweet old school House feeling, absolutely funky as hell and a standout track that will have you run to the booth to check what the hell it is... unique in every way.

The second track „Braun“ takes us to rougher and more bouncing Hip Hop like beats with spaced out sounds and great Detroit-ish chord progressions. The title track „Janus“ is the true Gem of this release, slow and funky with a tasty Bass Line that gets you moving like crazy once it drops. The whole track teases and teases until it finally opens up to House heaven in the latter part of the track. Last on this wonderful EP is the elegant „Warme Kachel“ or should we say „Hot Oven“ haha.. well the sound is in the title, a very warm and cosy little piece that gets you in the right mood for some heated party action.. either way as warm up track or cool down closing song this beauty will set the right mood for sure.

Salin Records warmly welcomes Diamond to the family, a very talented, young producer based in Oxford (UK), who found a place in our heart. When Diamond reached out to us with a raw demo of "Target Blue" we couldn’t get the melody out of our heads for days. The track instantly put a smile on our face and with Alex Wilson's sax lines it spreads an enormous energy which made us feel as if we were 20 again. Later Diamond came up with "Pen Burns The Paper" and "You Like Jazz?" which built an awesome fundament for an artist EP. There couldn't be a better title than "You Like Jazz? EP" as it reflects the personality of the producer - Diamond, who has a kind of obsession with Jazz but at the same time is not too serious about it. We also welcome our dear friend Tour-Maubourg to the label. His breakient mix of "Target Blue" is a brilliant example of where inspiration can lead you if you just let it go.
