Brussels-based Askkin composes the 37th instalment of the Room Trax label series. With a keen interest in old school groove, the artist delivers 3 innovative groovy cuts, full of details, rhythm and futuristic sounds for a release that is completed with a rework by the talented Hemka.

“Mana” comes forth as the title track on the EP with a somewhat sinister feel and lots of evolving details in the background making it a perfect proof of the sound Askkin wants to showcase. The French artist Hemka takes “Mana” and presents her vision while staying quite loyal to the original with its haunting soundscapes and powerful groove. 

A pounding kick takes over on “Nowadays”, going one deeper and therefore turning it into a very much suited weapon for transitions. The ethereal mood on the Trance-infused “Uraken Uchi” puts a superb end to the latest release on the imprint.
