rhythm of guitar/vocals really captures the frustration of the lyrics..funny how with all the information we have had thrown at us and all the history right in front of our noses these kinds of feelings still remain(in some). but tolerance is something that needs to evolve from all this..that's the rub I guess

very invery infectious song, reminds me like a crossover between early The Smiths and The Police

So diggin' the questions asked about direction and life. I so feel the deep concern in this song.

Even now I still love the energy of this song. Everything being reported in the news at the time was provoking a reaction within me but I had no one to really share these thoughts and frustrations with. I still really love the feeling  I get inside when I hear and play this song although, now a little older, I am no longer going off all the world one by one and have become a bit more tolerant and selective.

One By One

I spent my youth trying to become the next George Best but by the late 70s it was clear that I did not have the talent required and because of my single mindedness about this pursuit I think my eldest brother Brian was absolutely shocked when he received 3 songs written and performed by me on a cassette tape in the post.

This was the start of "Root Division" and without my two brothers’ talent and input it would not have existed. In addition to myself, Terry Reeves, my two brothers Brian Reeves and Gary Reeves, John Palmer (a bass player from my brothers' previous bands) he was a very encouraging influence on every thing I wrote and I owe him a lot. I would like every body to know that we had such a good time through out the existence of the band and I don’t remember a time when we were not laughing at one time or another.As there are only two of us left the band will no longer be producing anymore music so this is a celebration of Root Division’s beginning to end. I hope you enjoy.
