Lockdown Ska Riddim Album is the result of the RootsInSession creativity during the covid-19 pandemic and it is the first serious collaboration between RootsInSession and Marko Gaćina.

For this special occasion, the guys invited performers from different countries and so recorded seven versions on the Lockdown Ska riddim.

Raggae, as is the western music scene, a take on eastern elements using western instrumentation. Raggae, is stylized, from within the carnival scene, and packaged for dance hall. Western , is built up on African rythm and notes, and distributed to the western world, for 133+ years. Western music is a comfort and expression from POC, Europe, and other domestic/foreign nationalities. Raggae is western cultural music, roots on the island of Jamaica, and who's artists are all around the world. An open door musical scene, for conscious seekers and groovy dancers looking for fun.

After releasing the first single Voodoo Jazz end of 2016 the journey of Dem Juju Poets keeps on with Barabara, the first single taken off their forthcoming album Liberated Thoughts out due early 2017 on Matasuna Records.
David Hanke aka Renegades Of Jazz, brainchild behind Dem Juju Poets, keeps on with his distinctive Afro sound and delivers a great 45 in various styles. As the Renegades Of Jazz journey will take a step away from Afrofunk music, Dem Juju Poets will be now the main outfit for Hanke to release more Afro driven music in the future.
Barabara is a heavy piece of dancefloor Afrojazz goodness, decent horn sections, tough drums and rich percussions combined with vintage vocals. People's Republic is a organ and flute driven Afrosoul tune with a heavy brass riff, thriving percussions and flute solos galore.

ROOTS IN SESSION SOUNDS was found in 2000, when from one week RADYOYO radio show, playing Breakbeat music, became a multi show, playing everything between Drum'n'Bass, Breakbeat, HipHop, R'n'B, Soul, Funk, Nu Jazz, Down Tempo, Reggae, Dancehall,...

The Wednesday show, under the direcion of PIER selector with selectors FU, MAHOWNEE and SHINE, was named Roots in Session and it covered all Reggae st...yles. The leading inspiration for the selectors and others, who helped the show to stay alive over the years, arose from visiting ROTOTOM SUNSPLASH Festival in Italy, since 1999.

Every year one promo mix CD ROOTS IN SESSION is made, and is always accepted with great interest among supporters. Under the cover of RADYOYO crew, PIER, FU and TIGOR are active in organizing parties (Drum'n'Bass, Hip Hop...) with foreign artists, so desire for Reggae party became bigger and bigger.

In the year 2003 the tradicional 1st of May, two day open-air gathering on Slovenian seaside began. When the radio show stopped broadcasting, a need for sharing music among people became stronger, so the first promo mix cd named KUS KUS was made and sold out in few months.

It became clear that ROOTS IN SESSION is not just a sound, but also a movement, trying to represent and spread positive vibrations, thinking and philosophy, which derives from the Reggae culture itself.

Today, the ROOTS IN SESSION SOUNDS live performance is a show of all Reggae styles, expanded on to Hip Hop, Jungle and Drum'n'Bass.
