Born, raised, and thriving in Arkansas; I grew up singing in church with my family for the first 18 years of my life, then took a break from music for about 10 years. I was fortunate enough to get sober in 2020, which has allowed me the time and resources to start taking music more seriously and set up a very basic studio in my home. My influences are loneliness and Britney Spears 💖💫🌻😢

Careful Creature (Formerly known as Rootslinger) is a solo music project started by Austin Vines during the latter half of 2009. Stemming from a desire to create music similar to the artists that I was discovering at that time and an admiration for the DIY aesthetic, Careful Creature continues to evolve and change course over time, hopping from vocal sample laden dance tracks to somber, lo-fi beatscapes faster than you can say Wurlitzer.
