Sounds From NoWhere is pleased to premiere a new Jeroen Search' gem on 'Axis'.
The Alpha Centauri system is seen by many as the best candidate to explore for signs of life. 
As the gravitationally bound system of the closest stars and exoplanets to Earth's Solar System is located at 4.37 light-years from the sun it would take about 100 years for a nuclear pulse propulsion interstellar spacecraft to reach it, and another 4 years would be necessary for the data to begin reach Earth.

Alpha Centauri, has at least one Earth-sized planet orbiting one of its three stars. 
Dangerous x-rays from that red dwarf star make life unlikely there, but the prospects may be much better for the other two sun-like stars, if any as-yet undiscovered planets orbit them.

With so many exoplanets being discovered now, it is natural of course to wonder about the star system closest to us. Could life exist there? For the one planet known to exist there so far, the results are not encouraging. 
But if there are others, and most planetary systems appear to have more than one planet, then the odds are a bit more in life’s favor. 
We won’t know for sure until/if we find additional planets in the Alpha Centauri system. 
But even if we don’t, many other worlds are being discovered on a regular basis now, and a growing number appear to have conditions at least suitable for habitability, if not life itself.

So far the question still remains, will we find ever planets in an environment conducive to life as we know it?

Lost In Ether | P R E M I E R E | Jeroen Search - Circumpolar [AXIS]

@octalindustries is the solo project of Jónas Thor Gudmundsson. The project was originally founded in 2003 by Jonas and Mike Sickinger, the founder of the Octal label. The debut release of their collaboration was the Automatik EP on the Transistor Rhythm output. Couple of years later they joined their friend Deep Chord for a shared 12“ release, which today is a quite a valuable gem for dub techno lovers. The three of them joined hands together later that year to create a 3x12“ release undir the pseudonym Spectral Network. The release was quite limited (111 copies) and was considered one of the most interesting 12“ releases that year by many critics. 
After the release of the Spectral Network eps the duo went for hiatus as other projects took over, also as opportunity for musical collaborations became harder as the Atlantic Ocean divides them. Jonas continued working on other projects as @ruxpin – producing numerous releases along the way. 
In 2011 the duo was asked by the French independent label @entropy-records to do some releases. As Michael was unable to participate, Jonas went on solo and worked on a full-length release, which later became Meeting of the Waves LP. Another remix followed for G.R.I.T. which was hailed by dubtechnoblog.com as the best remix of the year 2012.   
In more recent years, Octal Industries has been working on numerous collaborations with artists such as fellow Icelander @ohm-599575574 - and fruits of their work has been released on labels such as @thule-records, Rawax, @luckofaccess, @allinnrecords and many more. 
Octal Industries also released works independently in 2019 an EP entitled Julia Sets on @kontaktrecordscph, which featured a remix from the Detroit legend @mikehuckaby – and his second full-length album Our Seasons, which was released on Vertex in December 2019. 
Octal Industries, although being Icelandic in origin, works and resides in Tallinn, Estonia.

Wanderwelle ~ Gathering of the Ancient Spirits [SSV13]

The Amsterdam-based duo Wanderwelle return to Silent Season with their second album. Gathering of the Ancient Spirits is inspired by the last years of the life of Paul Gauguin, which he spent on the islands of French Polynesia. The album tells the alternative history of his search for a land that is untouched by modern society and whose inhabitants were still dependent on the gifts of nature and connected to their ancestors. During his stay, the painter encounters forgotten rituals and the primordial beings which haunt the islands since the dawn of time.

In 2018, it’s exactly 115 years ago that Paul Gauguin passed away. This album is an ode to one of the greatest artists that ever lived.
