True to their name, Avial (a mixed-vegetable delicacy) blends Malayalam Poetry with Contemporary Alternative Rock Music.

With elements of Indie Rock and Folk Music underlying an electronic feel, Avial’s music has overcome language barriers not only in India but is also drawing fans across the sub-continent and the globe. It has an increasing fan following, with a revolutionary approach in today’s
contemporary music scene in India.

The band members come from an in-depth musical background, with a diverse exposure of working with different bands before they could come together. In search of something more intrinsic, with a sense of belonging, Avial discovered and articulated the expression in their own mother tongue, dared to express their music with their self-titled debut album.

Fetching a great name for them selves, Avial is one of the most sought after Indian bands today, transcending genres, justifying the term “Alternative Malayalam Rock”

The Ganesh Talkies are the dance music cousins of Bollywood via Indian
indie. The Talkies blend alt-rock, reggae, ska and pop in a funky, twisted brew peppered with influences culled from cinema. The result is Bollywood's quirk, coolth and extreme kitsch meeting a dance-heavy ethos in the band's sound and live vibe.

Like a movie plot, GT songs tell stories; that unfold collectively to make the whole picture.

Ladies Compartment is a dynamic all-female music project based out of Mumbai.   The name 'Ladies Compartment' is a tribute to the daily trials of a working woman in the city of Mumbai, along with the almost cinematic romanticism of local trains. 

The members of the group initially came together to share their interests in American folk, jazz, blues, indie, and Carnatic Indian classical traditions just like the passengers in a ladies train compartment; each with their own unique story to tell. What started as a band has now evolved into a larger project. Ladies Compartment being an all female ensemble currently comprises of well established musicians along with upcoming talented local female artists. 

Band members include Ramya Pothuri (on acoustic and vocals)and Aarifah Rebello (on drums and vocals), Aditi Ramesh(on keys and vocals), and Nandita V.(on bass and vocals).

The band hopes to write and perform more, record their original music and execute the many diverse ideas they daydream about in the middle of serious jam sessions.

Azadi Records is an independent record label based in India. Its CEO, Mo Joshi, heads the label, which seeks to provide a platform for South Asian artists to release forward-thinking, politically conscious music that critically engages with (and comments on) the pressing issues of our time.
