I wrote this song earlier this summer when I was in Florida. I'd been teaching myself guitar, and this just naturally started to come together. I hope you enjoy!

Oasis of the Mind

I wrote this piece this semester for Theatre TCU's production of Silent Sky by Lauren Gunderson. This is a piano piece that the main character's sister, Margaret, writes and performs at the end of Act I. It is as this music plays that the main character, Henrietta, realizes that music is the key to classifying cepheid stars within our galaxy. The pulsing of these stars is like the music of the cosmos, and her sister's piece serves as the crux of her understanding of this musical relationship.

It was a pleasure to work with Jacob Buttry and Grant Lattanzi in the making of this dazzling production. This show was student directed, but you would never guess it from its quality and attention to detail. Hats off to these two and their incredible work.

Oblivion

Video game concept music: "Destination Atlas"

I see this as the final level of a side-scroller video game right before the final boss, with the title "Destination Atlas" referring to the name of the level. I picture this level on the deck of an airship as the sun sets in the distance. My goal for the music is to symbolize the descent from the quirky adventurous vibe of day to the more intense and serious music of night. This would also serve to symbolize the shift to a more serious tone as the player prepares to face the final boss.
