Da isser wieder. Dieses Mal hat's nicht so lange gedauert. Mit „Retro“ hat sich B-Tight Anfang 2015 auf seine Wurzeln besonnen – was ihn letztlich auf Platz 8 der Offiziellen Deutschen Charts katapultierte. Zehn selbstgedrehte Videos und 34 Tourtermine sprechen auch für sich. Klotzen statt kleckern: Diesen Weg geht er nun mit seinem neuen Album konsequent weiter – ohne dabei zu stagnieren. Denn Born 2 B-Tight ist nicht, wie der Titel und Cover vermuten lassen könnte, ein weiteres Rockalbum. Nein – hier wird gerappt, und das über Beats, die den Flavor der guten, alten Aggrozeit atmen, dabei aber total auf der Höhe der Zeit sind. Sekte-Sound in geil. Wie man es von Bobby nicht anders gewohnt ist, teilt er gerne aus – nie bösartig oder mit Hass, dafür mit einem dicken Grinsen und jeder Menge gutmütigem Spott. Wenn der Berliner feiert, dann fliegen die Ellenbogen – daran hat sich nicht viel geändert.

Rekids celebrates 10 years of Radio Slave’s ‘Grindhouse’ with remixes from Len Faki, Slam, Obscure Shape & SHDW, Vatican Shadow, Markus Suckut, Lady Starlight and Special Request. First appearing on a release as part of Radio Slave’s iconic ‘No Sleep’ series, ‘Grindhouse’ spawned multiple remixes from the likes of Dubfire, Danton Eeprom, Terrance Fixmer and Nic Fanciulli to become one of the biggest techno records since its original release. To commemorate this fact, Len Faki has produced two different reinterpretations in the first of four heavyweight remix packages.

“I didn’t plan to go back to Grindhouse. It’s a monster of a record and undoubtedly the biggest release we’ve had on the label, but after 10 years it seems right to revisit the track and also add some new versions from some of my favourite techno producers." – Radio Slave With Danton Eeprom’s vocal resonating throughout, Faki’s first remix features crunchy snares, ominous chords and shuffling effects before piercing synths come into effect in the latter half. Meanwhile, the second version rumbles forward with its undulating bassline, soaring atmospherics and echoing elements to round up two solid productions exemplary of the Figure founder’s seasoned abilities in the studio.

After bursting onto the scene in late 2017, Hyperloop makes his Drumcode debut with Green Velvet in toe. 

Followers of Truesoul will be clued up on the quality one can expect from Hyperloop. Last October he marked the label’s 100th with ‘In The Loop’, a superb three-tracker that signalled his arrival on the scene and highlighted a stunning year for the label. As 2018 picks up pace, Hyperloop returns with a tougher follow up for Drumcode. 

His ‘Mentalizm’ EP is a classy example of his versatility, a trio of original works, accompanied by two DJ tools. Beginning on a menacing tip, ‘In Your Mind (Reflections)’ is a low-end brew of industrial stabs, eerie melodies and subterranean vocals. ‘S-Sound’ is his collaboration with Chicago legend Green Velvet and is a percussive masterstroke of loops and drum riffs which drive the eight-minute track with all the puffing ferocity of a steam train. ‘Spring on the Battlefield’ is the perfect contrasting accompaniment, as a warm rush of strings covers a bed of intricate analogue effects and stomping kicks.
