It's quite specialist.......It's all authentic Reggae from the very centre of the culture........I put tunes on these podmixs that I don't really expect people to feel the first time they hear them...........I'm making the podmixs for people who like to listen multiple times and then begin to like different tunes to the ones they liked on the first listen.

Here comes a musical gem from the Blackrose Studio: the great singer, multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, producer, dub engineer and soundman Prince Jamo on the riddim and vocals with a rootsman anthem, paired with an uplifting flute cut by none other than Don Fe and two ruff dubwise excursions. All transferred to 1/2inch tape and mastered with care by Star Delta and presented with an exceptional watercolor artwork by Chloé Bernal.

Veteran Jamaican deejay Tippa Lee returns to the fold with a playful twist on the classic love song, professing his adoration for sweet reggae music and all it's provided him. 

As per usual, the enigmatic Naram is on riddim duties with a retro-futuristic piece of rub-a-dub mixing live Simmons drums, acoustic piano and a menagerie of colourful synths.

Paired with a stripped back dub version, mixed to tape, and mastered for full effect by New Zealand’s Downbeat Mastering, this is another essential 45 from the Red Robin camp.

As a follow up to Digital Devotion Vol. 1, we are now happy to announce the release of the second mix in the series. Packed with some of our long time favourite tunes, collected over the years, this mix has a more roots oriented flavour and sound than its predecessor. Some of the included tunes are not strictly digital and a few of them are released in the 90's (with the 80's being the  focal point of the series). However, all the included tunes carry a certain vibe that we associate with the main digital era of Jamacan music.

We are happy to share this with you and hope you enjoy the mix as much as we enjoyed hunting the tunes down over the years. Feel free to spread it far and wide, but please use the original boxnet download link.

Johnny Clarke "Guide Us Jah" (Extended)

Here is a little 80s style selection from a Tuesday evening after teaching school all day. Tunes and a spliff or two is no better way to relax. I figured I had not posted a selection in quite a while so I hit record and here is what happened!! All vinyl recorded live, all vibes!! I start off with a little mid 80s almost digi era selection but end up going back and playing a little bit of everything in the roots variety!! Some rare 7s and 12s along with a single 10 inch acetate cut to Paula Clarke's University in a dubplate style. The rarities are accompanied by a few classic tunes to keep you singing along. I tried to keep it with the 80s rub a dub feel all the way though! Definitely worth checking out!
