One Piece of JAZZY JAM

Stolpernd-polternd-eigen, wie ein charmanter Trunkenbold, feiernd, auf dem Weg nach Hause, flirtet und säuselt das singende Ich mit seiner Holden. Auch meine Gitarre stolpert dahin, vermeintlich leise und brav -- aber taking the long way home passiert irgendwie doch immer. Und so klingt der Zwischenteil ein bisschen wie etwas Rauhes, Ungehobeltes, wie Tom Waits auf einem Rock'n Roll Konzert, nachts um 3, nachdem schon längst Schluss war. Naja, ein wenig absurd scheint die Liebesbekundung, weiter säuselnd-flirtend, auf dem Weg nach Hause, outside, past the party lights.
Ein dicker Kuss an meine Frau! -- Echt, ich bessere mich. Diesmal meine ich das wirklich.  ;-)

With a glass of wine or two, the singer (and my recorded instruments) is/are stumbling kind of homeward. Flirting with his girl and -without wanting it- telling us about his way of life. He seems to take an extra round back to the small-town-Rock'n-Rollers, although the music should have been over hours ago. It seems as if the drunkard's flirting whispers are being heard -- but nobody knows. Past the party lights it's kinda dark. I wonder if Tom Waits would like the saxophone sound, a bit rough, and the singer's voice right after that telling his love that he loves, ...zzsxuse me, hick, ...her. Sorry.
I big kiss to my girl! -- I'm improving diligently. And this time I really mean it. ;-)

A cover of Faith No More's cover of the Commodore's version...

Seit Jahren dachte ich daran, diese Cover-Version aufzunehmen. Und ich überlegte immer, wie ich das Solo einbaue, wie drums, bass, guitars, pianos, brass klingen sollten -- bis ich mich dann für diese abgespeckte Version entschied, zu der mir Sascha mir ein großartiges E-Gitarren-Solo beisteuerte, ein kreativ eigenes, nicht nur das Original nachgespielt. Ich freu' mich.  ;-)

He did his part in about 10 minutes, while I was shifting and trying again for hours, if not months or even years, ha!  ;-)

So, here it is:
... Finally my cover-version is kind-of-in-shape...

- Piano recorded mostly in one session
- Sascha in Corona-mode via e-Mail
- Background choir with 9 similarly nice and positive singers hired by me ;-)

Well, in the end I had to laugh but -after remembering chatting with Mother Mary-  I thought "let it be" as it is  ;-)

But now I'm happy that it's ready.  ;-)

The Roun'daBlues are born from afternoons soaked in beer and myrtle between dark and senseless verses by Darius and soft funk chords by Corra, back in 2016.
INSIDE INSANE is their first fully self-produced album, in July 2019.
A first appearance with their original songs will take place in early September 2021, on the occasion of the Movin 'On Rock Festival.
