“healing” begins to open up from the haze that “fog” leaves. The title has a lot of meaning behind this one, laced with distant vocals telling you to “let the healing into your heart”. The track encapsulates the title of the EP, an emotional shift towards happiness, peace of mind, hope, and (some) clarity. This track was written with a lot of personal hardships on CD’s mind from a recent relationship, and always pictured being entranced by it at the end of a long set in the club.

Routine Espresso Recordings, over in the Bay Area, has compiled their 2nd V/A compilation on Cassette that is scheduled for the 7th December. The 10 track compilation titled Café Dreams, features emerging artists across the globe for bean grinding, bean roasting, and bean drinking pleasure. Italian producer, Bilowi, is one of the featured artists on the compilation with ‘Deliveries from Deli’. Casually cool hints of jazz and enchanted flute, prances like the smell of a hot roast in a cold winter’s day.

Slated for December 7th 2018. Peep their Bandcamp for the release.

PREMIERE: Bilowi - Deliveries From Deli

After a first EP released earlier this year on Folamour imprint, FHUO, Madcat is back with a second maxi entitled The Doors of Perception, coming on Pont Neuf Records on December 7th. The Parisian producer - who first released some tracks Pont Neuf compilations Habemus Paname before experiencing a first success with Petite Musique de Chanvre on FHUO - shows all his groovy touch on this new 4 tracker that appears as a door open on his many influences from jazz, funk and hip-hop, both catchy and mystical with its name in tribute to Aldous Huxley. The EP opens on ‘Le Jeu du Roi d’Ur’, as a downtempo introduction with a disco atmosphere and a heady vocal. The second track ‘Pardès’ - literally «garden» or «orchard» - appears as a dancing ride with its catchy bassline and dreamy melodies. ‘Call  Me  Ishmael’, makes the listener jump on these guitar riffs and a smashing jazzy and funky rhythmic part. Finally, ‘In-Yo’, appears as a closing track divided into two phases, first with a mental deep house part before completing the maxi with an irresistible funky finale.

After some first EPs released on Pont Neuf Records, Virage Records - the imprint set by the duo in 2017 - and Chez Damier’s Inner Balance, ALVA are back on Pont Neuf with their new EP Hétérotopies.

The «promising duo» (Tsugi Magazine) presents without a doubt their most accomplished maxi thanks to a balance and a wealth of musical structures which makes the listener travel among their influences, mixing groovy and aerial deep house sounds with a mental and percussive universe. The name of the EP chosen by the two first trained architects also refers to the utopian spaces described by the philosopher Michel Foucault involving a dimension of memories that ALVA retransmit here in music.

The maxi starts with «Le Moulin», a perfect introduction with deep and smooth melodies with punchy percussions which bring a strong groove.
Next up, the second track «Lingotto» takes the listener into a more club-oriented atmosphere with a funky and catchy bass line supported by sharp synths and a warm drums and pads.
The second part of the EP opens with a collaboration with the Parisian producer Cosmonection - also signed on Pont Neuf - on «Social Club», an ambitious fusion of styles that presents both hypnotic and funky sounds.
Finally, «Rue du Soleil» closes this EP with a complex track, mixing at the same time warm and groovy drums and bass lines with incisive and effective synths and tablecloths to create a tension with a clear objective: to make people dance.
