Roommate began as a Kent Lambert solo project in NYC in 2000 and has been an ever-mutating Chicago band since 2004. The fourth Roommate album MAKE LIKE was released in June 2015.

Over the years Riverman has dedicated his life to delivering that "perfect" mix as an art form and being a full on DNB, Jungle, and House Music supporter! From throwing Monsterave Rave in 1992 the week after Lollapalooza with Mark Farina on decks under a 30 ft tall inflatable Godzilla to getting to have the pleasure to spin all over the nation at massive underground events! A true lover and Jungle, Drum N Bass, House, Techno, and Ambient... Riverman DJ'ed DNB at tons of the original "edm" fests back in a day, including many "desert raves" out west, and 30+ years of warehouse type of parties in Chicago. He also played alongside dozens of the biggest worldwide Drum N Bass Legends when they were playing in Chicago... like LTJ Bukem, Aphrodite, Dom & Roland, Deiselboy, Evol Intent, Delta Heavy, and many others! He guest DJ'd at most of Chicago's DnB/Jungle club-nights basically over the past 30 years including a solid SMARTBAR monthly residency at the MIA Crew's 10+ year DNB night where he spun off and on all 10 years as one of the original members back then. Yeah "We Don't Stop" Paul Johnson's "mantra" is one of his inspirations and mantras as well.... for the LOVE of Dance Music is how Represent!!!

Following the 2012 release of their self titled debut and ‘Scarlett Belle EP’ of last year, Cat Meat return with their most ambitious offering to date; ‘Eldritch City Dwellers.’

This is a record concocted in the dark urban sprawl of the capital; the songs themselves penned in dank corners of South London boozers, in dilapidated train stations and night buses carrying the blitzed and weary.

Musically, the band has clearly developed from its alt country roots. Whilst the songwriting craftsmanship of Gene Clark, Emmylou Harris and Waylon Jennings is evident, so too are artists as diverse as Robbie Basho, Chet Baker, Warren Ellis and The Velvet Underground. 

There’s a lyrical fragility to each of these songs too, the crumbling frailty of Vic Chesnutt creeping into the crevices, the creaking wheeze of Tom Waits steering deeply personal tales of love and friendship.

Having played a number of successful London shows the band has received plaudits from some of their own favourite artists, most notably Califone’s Tim Rutili and PJ Harvey collaborator John Parish.

Expect to see Cat Meat lugging their haul to a town near you very soon.
