To launch our mix series we have the pleasure of having one of the founders of the North East collective @miyagimusicuk, @BornaSafa has brewed up this stellar mix to kick things off! 

We caught up with Borna beforehand to chat about all things Miyagi Music and his approach to this recording, you can check it out below our discussion. 

What was your thought process or concept behind this mix? 
It’s inspired by the forest rave we hosted this summer. I wanted to capture the 3am energy we’d created, and the darker, more hypnotic sound. It’s a blend I’m loving exploring right now: tech house, electro, and a touch of techno.

How did you approach recording it — was it a planned selection or more off-the-cuff?
A bit of both. I pulled together a stack of tunes I knew I wanted to play, but the actual mixing wasn’t planned - just played through the tunes and let it unfold naturally.

Are there any tracks from friends or your own productions you’d like to shoutout? 
My own unreleased track “Freak Show” makes an appearance - marked by dark Japanese vocals and a sharp guitar riff. It’s a risky vibe change ~ I hope you enjoy!

Do you have any gigs, releases or projects coming up we should know about?
Big things cooking. Miyagi Music is gearing up for a huge 2026 - loads in the pipeline and some exciting plans on the horizon. Check @miyagi_music_uk if you’re into the sound, keep an eye on the page for upcoming productions, mixes and events.
