Skankandbass is dedicated towards the official promotion of record labels and artists in the world of drum & bass music. Since inception in 2009, Skankandbass has unearthed some of the freshest talents in the scene and has opened many doors for unsigned artists. Now, through Skankandbass Introducing we release a series of free download singles which aims to spread the work of the best unsigned, newcomer artists who deserve more recognition.

SNB094 comes to us from fresh talent Resslek.  Originally from Germany but now based in Portugal, the up-and-comer caught our attention with recent heavyweight releases on Engage Audio, Transparent and Tesseract among others.  We now welcome his deep, weighty take on drum & bass to Skankandbass Introducing with ‘Undrgrnd / Zoom In’.

MANIACTS are the joint forces of Auckland D&B DJs Captain Morgan and NGN. With over 15 years' experience between them, MANIACTS are bringing an upfront, frenetic, four-deck style to create something fresh that wasn't possible as solo acts. 
Individually, they have torn up dancefloors next to the likes of Andy C, S.P.Y, Document One and TREi (among many others) in clubs and festivals at home in NZ all the way to Australia, England, Germany and Austria. After discovering each other and finding a parallel flow within their personal styles, MANIACTS are showcasing the music that excites them from heavyweight labels like Symmetry, Critical, Metalheadz and Sofa Sound, as well as their own unheard productions. Be ready to lock in for some bass heavy rolling funk that's all killer and no filler, with razor fine mixing, mad switch ups and a bit of that extra sizzle. We’re delighted to welcome Klippee into the CIA fold, and he bounces his way right through the door with three tracks of pure heat with his brand new ‘Raw EP’. 

The Seattle native has been making sonic waves for a bit of time now and we’ve been impressed with what we’ve heard. His ‘Raw EP’ showcases exactly the kind of vibes that have been getting his tracks into the record boxes of some of the scene’s top selectors as he comes with weighty bass and tight drums, but always that bit of funk or that jungle vibe that makes him a great fit for CIA. 

All of the tracks have quite a specific sound and feel to them - meaty yet classic breaks, big pulsating bass, and some choice samples to keep them moving. But it feels like Klippee is already carving himself quite a niche and quite a sound - one that’s going to do the damage on the floor and be sure to see his tracks getting some heavy rotation for quite some time to come.

Liondub welcomes another fresh artist to his acclaimed International label. Raised in London by parents from Trinidad & Tobago, Doctor Roberts was influenced from an early age by the Reggae and Soca being played at home, and was further inspired by London’s powerful sound system culture.  Notting Hill Carnival, early Jungle dances, and the pirate stations that dominated the airwaves fueled Robert’s passion to DJ and produce music.  Fast-forward to 2024 and Liondub proudly offers up a refreshing 5 tracker that showcases Robert’s authentic, Reggae, Rave and UKG inspired Jungle Drum & Bass sound. This is no run of the mill EP from Doctor Roberts; these are dynamic songs that rekindle memories of the past, with a unique and powerful modern twist.

A high-energy Drum and Bass track that balances raw intensity with smooth rhythm. The drums hit hard with crisp breakbeats and deep sub-basslines, driving the momentum forward. The sound design leans aggressively — sharp reese bass growls, distorted synth stabs, and punchy kicks — but it’s controlled and polished, avoiding chaos.

Over the top, atmospheric pads and vocal elements add emotion and texture — either chopped female vocals or haunting spoken lines that weave through the mix. The vocals soften the edge, bringing a human touch to the mechanical energy.

The overall vibe is powerful, dark, and dynamic, perfect for late-night sets or cinematic chase sequences — energetic enough to move a crowd, but with a melodic core that keeps it musical rather than purely brutal.
