DJ Rashad was and still is a legend.  Not only was he a Footwork and Juke pioneer but also one of the hardest working DJs and producers I've ever met.  The dude really never stopped working.  He was either globetrotting and spreading the sound of Chicago around the world or in the lab pushing himself to expand his sound further and further.  On April 26 2014 the world lost one of the most inspiring and talented artists of our time.  His spirit moves through Teklife, the dancers, his friends and everyone he has touched or influenced.

Over the past few years I've been lucky enough to collaborate with Rashad and even be remixed by him.  The tracks were never completely finished and seemed impossible to finish after he passed.  Eventually I mustered up enough courage to open the sessions and finish them.  It is what Rashad would have wanted me to do.  

"Movin' Forward" is a collection of those collaborations plus two exclusive unreleased Machinedrum tracks that were heavily inspired by Rashad and the Teklife crew.  I called it "Movin' Forward" because I know Rashad wants everyone he touched to keep pushing themselves and follow in his footsteps on the path he had been creating all these years.  I'm proud to have known him, shared the stage with him and to have collaborated with him.  May his sound and spirit continue to inspire and spread through everyones speakers!  Teklife to tha next life!!

Understand is the first track off of 'Movin' Forward',  out on Friday April 24th. 100% proceeds will go to his family and estate.

Rabbit Eclipse is the second full-length recording from the legendary Księżyc following on from their self titled debut from 1996. 

The Moon never went away. 

The 2013 the Penultimate Press re-issue of Księżyc’s timeless debut exposed the band to a large new audience resulting in a return to live performance and the subsequent development of new material.

Rabbit Eclipse was recorded in Warsaw throughout May to September 2015 within the idyllic Palladian palace Królikarnia (The Rabbit House).  All original members gathered to conjure the peculiar hybrid of the the ancient and the contemporary unique to the band. 

With more expanded forms, Rabbit Eclipse presents a rich and subtle environment of beguiling narratives hanging in suspended tension.  This opens up an entire new phase in the cycle of the band where an enchanting discrete musical continuum of rich and subtle sound excursions are enveloped in a mysterious melancholia.

Rabbit Eclipse is another exemplary presentation from one of Poland’s most idiosyncratic and respected outfits.

The latest entry into Toy Tonics ' catalogue of fine house and techno-leaning releases comes courtesy of label mainstays Rhode & Brown. Snabsnus marks the duo’s fourth release (and third EP) on the Berlin-based imprint, which fans of new era deep house should surely be familiar with at this point.. The EP builds on the aesthetic of their previous release, Tunnel Woman, incorporating heady samples and synth work with both vintage feel and new era stylo.

With gusto, Bolting Bits brings you the premiere for the A1 track on the release. “St Hippolyte” is a moody, pensive joint built on dark, hazy synths and a funky breakbeat. Ultimately, the track climaxes via a thick, acid-inspired riff that leads the arrangement almost to its close. The track, much like the EP, is a clear reflection of the duo’s production approach; an amalgamation of analogue hardware and samplers.

SOULWAX: TRANSIENT PROGRAM FOR DRUMS AND MACHINERY

For those fresh to the beatless grime game, Mumdance and Logos are the figureheads behind the forward-facing Different Circles label. Along with the likes of Mr Mitch and the rest of the Boxed movement, they’re the folk responsible for giving grime a new face during the genre’s rebirth a couple of years ago.

The next release from the pair is a self-entitled, 21 track long continuous DJ mix of unreleased, instrumental goodness. With “Cafe Del Mar”, the duo explore those same grounds made infamous on ‘Weightless Volume One’: ambient, sometimes discordant noise punctuated by stabs of classic grimey bass.

It comes as preparation for tonight’s Different Circles Music session. If you haven’t secured an RSVP, you can still catch the madness by tuning in from 19:00 GMT. Be sure to cop the mixtape in full here.

It won't come as too much of a surprise that our favourite track on XOA's new EP comes in the form of a Byron The Aquarius remix as the young producer has been on fine form recently.

We premiered 'The Love Below' back in June and we knew that the Detroit producer had fire in his locker and this new edit of 'In So' is another house masterclass. Check it below and drift off to the clouds.
