Falling

All my life I've had a hard time communicating my feelings because I'm very passionate and my message gets lost in my emotions. The one vessel that stays true is singing and music. After the Ferguson shootings in 2014, Questlove inspired me as a musician to speak out. For so long I felt like I didn't know what to say or how to say it. Now, two years later I've finally had enough and I've laid it all out in this song. I wasn't planning on releasing this until my next record comes out, but I just can't wait any longer. We all need to work together, black, white, gay, straight, whatever.... because there will come a point where it's too late for us to turn back and nothing in the world will seem right anymore. We have the power to unite and LOVE each other and it's a CHOICE that we all must make. It's not easy, but it's absolutely necessary in order for us to continue moving forward so that our kids and grandkids can live in a world where they don't have to keep both eyes open and both hands up.  If there's one message to take away from this song... LOVE, LOVE, LOVE. #blacklivesmatter
