Folk, jazz and experimental in Icelandic, English and Danish. 

The group was founded by singer and composer Nina Björk Eliasson and guitarist and composer Hasse Poulsen in 1994. The two were joined to begin with by cellist Maria Bisgaard and drums and percussionist Lars Juul. Later came Martin percussionist Martin Bregnhøi and several others have played with the group throughout the years, like the guitarist Morten Steen, base players Olav Gudnasson and Henrik Simonsen, violinist Jørgen Dickmeiss, organ player Iver Kleive, percussionist and vibraphonistThomas Sandberg and fagotist Aida Nadeem.     

Together they made the 3 albums: 'Sortner du sky' (1995, Av-Art), 'Í kjól úr vatni' (1999, Tutl) and 'Lemon River' (2001, Tutl), featuring and composed over texts by Nina Björk Árnadóttir, Simon Grotian, Lene Henningsen, Steinunn Sigurdardóttir, Sjón, Linda Vilhjálmsdóttir, Sigurdur Pálsson, and Chinese folk poetry. 

Klakki played concerts all over Denmark and in Germany and Sweden. On this profile you can listen to previously unreleased concert recordings by Klakki as well as tracks from their studio albums.

Nina Björk Elíasson singer, composer, improvisator, visuel artist.  Grew up in Iceland but has now lived for a long time in Copenhagen, Denmark. Educated in music and communication at the University of Copenhagen. 
She has explored the voice for years regarding phonetics, feelings, qualities etc. using it in an experimental way and improvising, composing works for voice solo and chorus, as well as songs to contemporary poetry: icelandic, danish, chinese.   
Gradually she began to make performance and videos/slides to her music,  Installations and visual art. 
Her music has been performed or played widely around the world.
