I made this track beginning of 1997. It was the first time I recorded Eva's vocals. The track only got released on a few tapes I made and sold in warehouse rave party parking lots.

We aren’t sure what it about Detroit that allows the city to produce such a high volume of quality electronic music but surely, there must be something to it.  The air? The water? Well, we can neither confirm or deny any theory regarding why the area is such a hotbed of creativity for house and techno but rather revel in the dance hub's all American cool. Yes, this weeks podcast sees us head to back to the Motor City as Hamtramck producer DJ 3000 serves up an hour long set of selections for our listening pleasure.

Having established a fierce reputation in recent times, the selector born Franki Juncaj has just returned to his Motech label and having served up his first 12-inch for the in over three years, has got us all hot and bothered about what he's got planned for the rest of the year. Titled 'Take Me Away', eagled eared listeners will probably already be aware of the Truncate remix of the hypnotic house straddling techno number, having been included in Eats Everything's recent fabric mix and used to hammer dance floors all over the world over the course of the past few months.

With plenty of other exciting developments in the pipeline for 2016 and beyond, the next summer look set to be the most exciting of the DJ 3000's career. We wish we could tell you more, but right now all we'll say is watch this space!

Mo's Ferry Mix 5-16 by Solid Slap

Producer Oliver Ho aka Raudive is not a dark horse. Two years after his acclaimed “Abc EP” he returns to RRYGULAR with his new release “Love Is The Devil”. Straight and facing forward but also ‘back to the roots’ somehow. That doesn't need to be a compromise. It is a symbiosis that works absolutely fine in case of this particular 2+1-tracker. Like always the englishman knows how to use percussion elements without getting cheesy. A certain reference to Electro is obvious but it underlines the typical dirty Raudive sound rather than trying to be referential. But who needs genres anyway? „Club-Disco-Techno-House-Funk-Electro“ - some kind of monster!

Home is where the heart is, party is where your friends are! You’re familiar with each other and already know the evening will be great. Mo's Ferry's current mini-compilation, "Taste Buds", is a ping pong game between accomplished live acts like Dapayk solo, The Micronaut and The Outernet, as well as great DJs like Douglas Greed, Patrick Vano and Kleinschmager Audio. The musical journey goes from groovy Techhouse via functional Minimal to refreshing Electronica. A label showcase that is infectious and fun.

RRYGULAR is Mo's Ferry Prod.'s second offshoot born in late 2005. While Mo's Ferry Prod. itself stands for edgy and rocking minimal sounds and the first sublabel fenou is oriented more towards cuteminimalelectronica RRYGULAR is pushing forward to the core: Everything is about the definition of sound, about a compromise between DJ tool and floor filler. On releases filed under this label one can find tracks with a slight sombre touch. But it's not like these playful, tinkered tracks, it's much more DJ oriented, straighter, always directed to the floor. That's the idea behind RRYGULAR... But it should be allowed to escape from this routine with one or two out of ten releases.
