After his ‘& Friends’ VA earlier this year, Nic Zega makes his way back to Black Seven in tandem with Greck B for a whopping two-track EP. Accompanying the pair is rising Canadian talent Vaxx, making his first appearance on the label with a remix.

Opening the release, 'Redbone' sets the pace with driving drums, an acid bassline and layered percussive flair. Prominent melodies then come to the fore with strings and big synths building climactic energy - spurred on by a catchy vocal hook. This track screams "peak time"; handle with care - this one is extra hot!

'Retro Girl' comes next with rolling terrace energy. Punchy drums and crisp hat grooves bounce over the top of shuffled percs and rhythmic sub-bass. The track comes with an undeniable late-summertime anthem element - brought on via Balearic-style melodies and another prominent vocal topline. This is real 'hands in the air' stuff.

Closing the release, Vaxx's remix of 'Retro Girl' gives it a rawer and more underground edge. The Canadian producer stamps his robust low-frequency signature on the track, taking it in a whole new direction - deeper, darker and ready to stomp to.

Chiqito is the next in line to make his debut on the famed Hot Creations imprint with his standout four-track EP titled Phantom Of the Opera. A big fan of the label, he fits perfectly into the diverse and celebrated catalogue. 

“Music means everything to me. I give out everything that rages deep inside me. As a kid, my parents and family listened to hip-hop and funky music. This sound is completely immersive and accompanies you to this day. I first heard House Music on the radio, and when I heard the high cymbal and groove in it, I knew I was going to represent this genre of music. This has since been heard in the "Chiqito" sound.” - Chiqito 

Dance Of The Sugar sets the tone for the EP with solid, tech-house beats, reverberated vocal cuts and a heavy bassline, before a break-down with a familiar melody takes you by surprise. Next up Phantom Of the Opera has a swinging groove and shuffled percussion, with hypnotic vocals that come into full play, making the title of the track fully apparent. Bumpa has more minimal undertones with delicate percussion, yet stays true to Chiqito’s sound with infectious vocal hooks. Last up, Freestyles is a pacey number with an off-kilter groove and is a perfect way to round off the EP. 

Chiqito has always been a music addict. In 2012 he released Gangbang on Cuartero’s Sanity Records, which helped propel his name into the limelight. An army of supporters ensued in the form of Jamie Jones, DJ Sneak, Matthias Tanzmann, Maceo Plex, Nic Fanciulli, Andrea Oliva, Carlo Lio, Loco Dice, Cocodrills, Nathan Barato, and many others. Our next release on Roushlabel comes from the increasingly popular Bassel Darwish. The Distance Music frontman has amassed an impressive amount of high-quality labels on reputable labels over the last few years and his own label is really picking up momentum too. His 'Bring Down' EP consists of two big originals and a remix from Madrid-born producer FreedomB. The title track opens the release with a sophisticated groove. Built around a weighty sub bassline and an undulating beat with a subtle level of vocal presence, it finds itself in amply sufficient vibe building territory and would suit daytime terrace atmospheres perfectly due to it's stripped back and 'easy to move to' approach. Next up, 'Code' takes things up a few gears in the energy department. An uptempo stripped back dancefloor pleaser, carrying with it a rumbling low-end, hooky vocal and finespun melodic presence. Another quintessentially groovy number with more underground intensity, perfectly capable of cranking up the heat in the peak hours of any party. Last but not least, FreedomB's remix of 'Code'. Keeping the focus on the track's ambience, the substituted bassline and clever use of hypnotic effects in the transitional phases give it a completely new identity. Not too dissimilar to the original, but, at the same time presenting standout differences which make for an enjoyable new experience of something that was already highly engaging... clever work from an intelligent creator! La Pera Records duo ItaloBros spearhead Black Seven Music’s label launch with ‘Viento EP’, featuring remixes from South of Saturn artists Rone White & Rowen Clark and label bosses BRODYR. 

With a wealth of appearances across the global club circuit including at Space Ibiza and EGG London through to festivals such as Parklife (Manchester), and Hideout (Croatia), BRODYR now turn their hand to curating a new platform aimed at showcasing percussive inclined house and techno. 

First up is Italian artists ItaloBros who bring their refined rhythmic sound to the new imprint, following previous releases on Under No Illusion and Time Bandits. Their track ‘Viento’ opens with cantering drums, shuffling cymbals, distant voices and a bubbling bassline. 

Roush artist Rone White and Chapeau Music co-owner Rowen Clark then join forces for a remix which drives forward with saturated snares, sweeping synths, rolling sub-frequencies and spacey stabs. 

Next, BRODYR’s remix captures an authentic groove with rattling shakers, chopped vocals, layered toms and rumbling low-end.
