OMEGRO is an eight-limbed instrumental band using drums, bass guitar and a loop station, based in Berlin and originally from Colombia and the UK. Open minds and a willingness to try anything at least once has OMEGRO tipping two sets of headgear in the direction of bands like Trans Am, Mogwai, The Melvins, Kyuss, Antelope, Shellac, Shipping News, Oneida amongst others. The combination of influence and the duo's inspiration may well hit you like a post-rock-stonery slap to the face.  If you’re looking for a conventional band with a conventional approach to music look elsewhere.  The favoured modus of aural exploration was settled on in October 2012 in Berlin (Germany) where the duo have been located for the past couple of years.   OMEGRO is a hard-working vessel setting sail on the seas of musical endeavour.

June 2013 saw OMEGRO record their debut album.

Thursday is the new purple! Beanbags and cushions, lava lamps and disco balls, joss sticks, sarongs and candles. What more could you ask for on a Thursday night? 

Oh ya, loads of musicians (mostly) come and play some sweet tunes too. When you step inside the back room of the Cannon Pub you’ll forget that you’re in one of the oldest pubs in Newport Pagnell. You'll also forget that it used to be a gay bar.

The Sunset Lounge is Newport’s hidden gem and attracts some of the best talent Bucks has to offer, AND some of the worst. Something for everyone! From professional acts to bedroom musicians on stage for the first time, everyone gets a chance to rock out with their frock out for a three song set. Come early to guarantee a spot – we get quite busy.

Bring your own acoustic instruments and contact us if you have any requests (i.e. condenser mics, more than two plug-ins, drums etc.). Every Thursday night, doors and bar both open at 8. See you there!
