Circus Bent is Lukas Mantodea, originally from Poland but resident in the UK for almost ten years now. Music has always been main part of his life since he’s grown up in a family of musicians, mostly dedicated to classical, jazz and blues. His journey into the psychedelic scene and culture started back in the early ’90s when he began performing as a DJ, mixing old style goa trance and chill out, while in the same years he was involved in the organization of the first Goa parties in Poland. In the beginning he was inspired mostly by Eye Q Records, Harthouse Records, Blue Room Records, Dragonfly Records, as well as from artists such as Eternal Basement, Sven Vath, early Kox Box and Eat Static, Planet Ben and Juno Reactor. From ’96 he started to produce his own music and he played many gigs mainly in Eastern and Middle Europe as “Mantodea” live and dj until 2005, when he moved to UK and started being involved in several music projects. He played few gigs in Manchester and London, but his full attention was focused on improving his Music Production skills. In 2008 he started a course of music production and sound engineering at the University of Central Lancashire, which was a great opportunity to develop his skills and experience. Lukas graduated three years later and after a short break from gigs and music scene it was then time to turn his attention into his new project, that has already been signed by the Italian record label Looney Moon Records: “Circus Bent”. Through all these years Lukas developed his own original style with hypno-chaotic sounds straight from his subconscious mind.

On this week’s PsyBaBas Radio Show you can listen to an exclusive mix by SISHIVA.

Sissy Danou, born in Athens, is one of the rare female psychedelic trance producers in Greece.
She always had a passion for music. Her first contact being at the age of 9, when she started guitar & flute lessons. At the age of 14, she started listening to electronic music, focusing on trance. She turned out to be one of the lucky ones, born with the ultimate ear, and was able to recognize music notes effortlessly.
In 2009 she returned to Athens to attend S.A.E. Studies of Audio Engineering and realized that this is what she always wanted to be! She began to attend parties in her hometown Athens and loved the vibe and culture of the psychedelic trance scene. Now she has 2 projects focused mostly on forest dark sounds. Her sound is imaginative, organic, and next level psychedelic; it’s no surprise when she started to play regularly both underground and club events in Athens. Even less surprising when she established an international music career.

Now Sishiva works as a sound engineer, music production teacher by day and by night she blasts dance floors into the realm of the psychedelic. Brace yourself.

TesseracTstudio series continues with Brazilian label DJ, PEDRO ENRIQUE.

DJ Pedro Enrique was born in Campos do Jordão and currently living and working in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. His history with psytrance begun very early: he started going on psytrance parties when he was only 14 years old and only 2 years after, with the age of 16, he started his DJing career! After some years of playing, his DJing skills have evolved and Pedro gained a lot of experience playing on big events. Subsequently, his work was recognized and he was invited to be a label DJ of one of the world leading psy-progressive labels – “TesseracTstudio”. TesseracTstudio is a label based out from Serbia, with over 150 digital and 30+ CD releases. It is a pioneer of “serbian style” progressive psytrance sound and a home to artists such as Zyce, Flegma, Talpa, Ectima, Vertex, Arhetip, Sonic Entity and many more. Pedro leads his sets with mastery in sound through story and performs an impeccable techinique in his mixings, always keeping the flow on high level. His sets are best described as flawless blend of progressive with touch of psytrance which makes it unique and unstoppable dance-floor experience! As of now, Pedro has performed on some of the biggest events in Brazil, such as: Universo Paraello Festival, Tribe Festival, Alliance Brasil and many more, where he shared the stage with acts such as Infected Mushroom, Zyce, Flegma, Symbolic, Alien Project, Space Tribe, Dickster, Liquid Soul, Ace Ventura, GMS, Zen Mechancis and many others!
