What is there to be said about Ruben & Ra except these two have been lovers of boogie, disco & funk and have been keen record store diggers for too many years to count. With edits, reworks & original productions coming out of their ears, Ruben & Ra have decided to set up the Retrospective label as an output for their tracks. 




                     Originally from Cleveland, OH, DJ Nasty developed a love for music early in life.  Having came of age in the golden era of hip hop, he became an avid record collector and through hip hop gained an education in soul and disco breaks.
	While attending college in Columbus, OH, he purchased his first pair of turntables and began spinning at the bars and clubs in the area.  It was also at this time when he landed a job as the vinyl buyer at the largest music store on campus and furthered his knowledge of a wide variety of musical styles.
	In 1999, he relocated to Brooklyn, NY, and quickly gained a reputation as a versatile DJ equally comfortable with the demands of the top 40 weekend nights as was with the more eclectic offerings of the underground soul, disco, and house nights.  He ran multiple residencies in the Lower East Side of Manhattan from 2000 -2005.  Things have come full circle, as he has moved back to his home town, where he is now spinning at varies locals, combining a native’s understanding of the scene while always pushing the envelope.
