        Growing Up In The Logan Square Neighborhood Was a challenge where gangs and poverty ruled the community. Most Of My Male Role Models were deep into gangs. Although Logan Square Was tough i found shelter with in Music. House Music Was The Soul Of The Neighborhood and Listening To Bad Boy Bill Dj.Tragic And Pamp The Knox was my refuge from the streets. At The Age of 13 my uncle Shame, a former DJ, Started to expose me to the dj world and Walked Me Through Every Step of the journey. Blending two songs was my first and hardest challenge, but the Frustration and Headaches didn't stop me from learning. At the age of 15 i was working on dropping my 1st mixtape but the only problem i had was that i didn't have a dj.drop. By then my uncle Shame had stopped djing for personal reasons,this being the situation he gave me his Dj Drops. i wanted people to recognize that it was a different person behind the tables not my uncle,so i decided to alter his name and changed it to DjShame DaKiiD.
        Through Out My High School Years My Passion For Music Grew even stronger. Meeting and Learning about different cultures helped me expand my music knowledge. Music is universal it can be played, understood, and felt by anyone . At the age of 18 i was introduced to some local Chicago Party Entertainment companies were i was recognized by my unique style of playing. 5 Star Dj's & Beyakeo Entertainment were among the first to open there doors to me And gave me a residency. My First residency was a Local Hookah Lounge, on the weekends it was one the 18+ hottest spots on the Northside of Chicago. As the crowds grew so did my ambition,i wanted to play in bigger venues.When i turned 20 i was given the opportunity to play in a bigger 18+ Venue called Volkan Nightclub on the South Side of Chicago . I knew if i screwed this one in a life time opportunity i was going to fail my dream. By the end of the night i was asked to come back again and the following week i did a great show, impressing the promoters and landing my second residency. I was now apart of the V5LiveScene Crew.Everything was going well,then i got an offer to play in a 21+ venue Named Nikki Night Club. After that gigs came raining in and i started to play in Wrigley,Rosemont, and Downtown Chicago.I Have played at Nikki Night Club, Transit Night Club, Sound Bar, Ontourage Night Club, Nv PentHouse, Prohibit Lounge, Vlive Chicago, O'Malleys Bar And Grill, Martini Chicago, Club E, Enigma Lounge, and many More venues. My goal by the end of the night is to have a packed dance floor and people enjoying my music selection, its my motivation.I have yet many more goals to meet and accomplish,i am always open to trying new projects and meet new people in this industry. networking is a key to success. although i have come a long way from barely knowing how to blend two songs and then playing in some of the hottest spots in Chicago, Ive only scratched the surface of my true goals, This is only the beginning of my journey.
