Symbio:scenes is an immersive science fiction series that follows the evolution of life through a swamp into distant technological and ecological epochs.

The second episode is an erotic horror that explores alternate reproductive possibilities in the symbiocene through an encounter with the Eremite, an amphibious hermaphroditic post-human.  

The performance invites the audience intimately into the hot and slimy mating ritual that takes place between the Swamp and the Eremite, inspired by the curious reproductive behaviours of puffer fish, mole salamanders and insect larval cycles.

“Stirring lethargically beneath the dampness, the tree welcomes the Eremites touch as it begins to knead its slick skin against the bark, mucus squelching as the two bodies pass over the other.”

More widely this project is also born from an interest in developing science fiction and speculative future narratives that don’t compulsively centre the human experience in their world building. For example, how can pleasure be extended to and written from the point of view of not only the Eremite, but also the Swamp?

At the end of this multispecies orgie, a new hybrid organism rips its way out of the Eremites body and the terraforming of this post-apocalyptic chemical bog has begun.

Command D’s life between the urban and green surrounds of Eora/Sydney shine through in his Animalia debut with a smoked out, dubby four tracker. Diving between slinky downtempo and dance-floor driven beats, weighty bass-lines, crisp percussion and submerged pads wrap the record in a shrouded atmosphere of tension and release.

Animalia would like to acknowledge that all tracks were produced on the traditional land of the Gadigal peoples of the Eora Nation, and pay respect to their elders past, and present. Sovereignty was never ceded.

INSPIRED BY THE NATURAL SOUNDS AND TRADITIONAL SONGS OF LAO, THIS ALBUM IS A DEEP EXPLORATION OF TRIBAL RHYTHM, EARTHY BASS & NATURAL AMBIENCE.

This trip through Lao’s raw tropical culture begins with three instrumental tracks integrating nature sounds.

The beats become fiercer and we meet two Akha tribeswomen Isoe and Ik’a.

Softening into blissful ambience we hear the haunting voice of Phui Suwanh, singing in the natural reverb of a pitch dark cave.

Wonderfeel rejects synthetic sound and instead uses sounds from the physical world. Sounds recorded through a microphone. 

Peet Wonderfeel is an experienced producer with a background in activism and healing. He fronted the message-driven punk band Insyte, contributes to the freaky underground dance scene in Melbourne and hosts full moon dances and seasonal rituals.
Wonderfeel’s philosophy is to experience wholeness.

After a successful crowdfunder in mid 2017 Wonderfeel’s debut album ‘Lao Dreaming’ is here now.
