Whenever I see a crowd of people, ecstatically dancing and (seemingly) completely letting themselves go, euphoria and widened pupils everywhere, at some point these words come to my mind. Then a celebration of life suddenly changes into a collective ritual of denial. That´s basically why I used to feel quite sad at outdoor-raves.

Disco Melancholica

SKOLA / DEBT is a new single by a recently formed collaboration project between @Shaknis & @Egzotikka. A raw story about a devastating breakup built around self-destruction, toxic relationship and mental gymnastics. It was recorded during the summer of 2022 using lead and bass guitars, Polivoks, Roland drum machines and other various analog instruments.

The collaborative process forced both producers to extend their skillset by exchanging experience which resulted in a fast, grungy, electro-sounding post punk track. Two producers with different backgrounds contributing to the emerging Lithuanian post-punk scene.

The release is accompanied by an impressive reduction woodcut print design by Nerijus Dubsta that perfectly renders the track into a visual piece of art.

More music by Shaknis & Egzotikka coming next month.
