Ahead of joining Portuguese party starters Buraka Som Sistem, Jack Beats and Mele in Room One this coming Friday, we asked one of our favourite mixtape specialists, Smutlee, to fire over another one of his notorious half hour blasts of genre-spanning, heavyweight blends so we could suitably ramp up the hype over the next few days. Of course, we knew that as one of London's fiercest selectors and fast emerging beat-smiths he wouldn't disappoint so when he delivered the goods earlier this week, we responded with a few probing questions to find out about his latest collaboration with Serocee and what he's been up to as of late.

Scott Jenkins had an early start to his music career: while his school mates were out playing football after school, he was already deep into producing music under the name Skepsis. For the last few years he’s been putting out a string of well-received productions and remixes, most of which are tied together by a distinct bass-led sound. 

Jenkins is still only 21, but with peer support and appearances on stations like Rinse FM he’s become one of the bassline’s most recognisable artists.
