These Toronto-based musicians need absolutely no introduction, but have been all over the shop in recent times; from Rampage and Liquicity on the festival circuit to countless clubnights and gigs across both sides of the Atlantic. 

This month's release is a piece of music we've been waiting to put out for a long time, having unveiled it in our Hospital Podcast in mid 2024 (ouch, we've been holding this one a while..)

Charter balances a club-focused instrumental against Ana's introspective lyrics, giving us a beautifully indulgent piece fit for headphones and the dancefloor. 

Working with Tyr and Ana has been a dream come true to ourselves, between them having released on every high profile label you could name off the top of your head and having released music we adore spanning back years.

Amidst the flames of the palace that burned around him, the ronin longed for his memories of years past, in which the rule of his prior sovereign had been wise, benevolent, & just. A time before the ascension of the ruler's cousin following the chaotic succession of his death, a time in which the very thought of the course the ronin now pursued would have seemed surreptitious at best. Despite his own misgivings, the ronin had chosen to favor the honor of his familial oath in continued service to this new shogun. In time, he had hoped, the reality of ruling the grand realm left by his predecessor would help stir the new shogun from his avarice & cruelty.

Now wielding his blade in an oath all his own, he had taken up arms against those still loyal to his former master & broken his oath, rendering himself an outcast in the courts of all lords across the land. Yet he carried on, for on this path of flame and rebellion there burned one faint glimmer of hope for redemption. It would be he who would slay his former master and restore tranquility to the land once more. What judgment may fall upon his own shoulders past that point mattered not. Even if his own head should roll for the breaking of his oath, the lives of countless more would be spared from the tyrant for whom the palace now burned.

Persona 5 - The Days When My Mother Was There

Imagine a magnificent kingdom of clouds. Where the sun always shines and the sky is forever blue. This is a place of tranquillity, peace and endless joy. This is Cloudy Park. 

I first heard this piece about two decades ago when I played Kirby's Dreamland 2 on Gameboy. Even hearing it orchestrated by the most simplistic 8-it instruments, I knew there was something very special about it. I've loved it ever since, and just about two months ago decided to arrange and record it for piano. Sorry for the mistakes - I did my damndest to get the best sleep I could before the recording session but only got a lousy half hour!

Very special thanks must be given to Gordon Miller(of MillerMusic Studios in Victoria BC), who produced and mixed this fabulous recording! I was absolutely delighted to be able to use his Yamaha 7'S6 Grand Piano, which gives this piece an absolutely gorgeous, stellar sound. :D
