Dudbridge Garage International label co-head Chungo unveils a colossal dancefloor anthem with his Baile Funk infused single 'Solo Por Te'. Taking heavy influence from shuffling Brazilian Funk rhythms that draw parallels with the producer's usual UKG stylings, Chungo delves into this genre with ease, offering up a bass-heavy and hook-heavy summer heater.

The release marks the second instalment in the burgeoning label's new single series, following up from LeftLeft's infectious UKG production 'GFS' that released in late 2023. Here the other half of DBG and Scuffed Recordings alumni Chungo takes front and centre with an undeniable crowd mover.

We are buzzed to share something we have been sitting on for a minute; Room Service 002.  This next release comes from the powerful, high energy, tore de force Taiwanese American producer, DJ, musician, and interdisciplinary artist, JIALING/BIG J (@pbnstrawberryjam)

‘LOST TRAX 2K22’ follows JIALING’s debut album 家 (jiã) and defines her sound; punchy drums, percussion-filled breakdowns, emotive strings and searching harmonies. 

The EP opens with ‘Angels’, an off-kilter wobbly 140 techno/breaks track, combining vocal stabs and halftime breakdowns, captivates and nods to raves of past and future sounds of techno. ‘Solace’ is another hugely inventive sound, with multiple drum patterns and rickety rhythms that erupt with a piano hook to take you into another dimension. The brilliant 'Let Go' melts the heart with rolling drums, sustained synths and emotive cosmic leads, a real let-go moment. The EP is capped off with a remix by label head Gallegos, infusing the original spark of 'Let Go' with a soothing downtempo vibe, characteristic of his hypnotic style.

Grid is happy to release a summer anthem, the undeniable dancefloor filler ‘Dance Hall Again’, which sees lauded UK bass veterans DJ Polo & Breaka teaming up with the man, the legend Swordman Kitala !

DJ Polo and Breaka link up on production duties, crafting a perfectly executed Amapiano and Dancehall infused riddim. This bass-bin rattling production creates the ideal balance of dancefloor potency and an open canvas for Swordman Kitala’s killer vocal stylings to float on top with ease. Kitala delivers a fiendishly infectious hook on ‘Dance Hall Again’ with a relaxed swagger that ducks and weaves around gut-punching rhythms to devastating effect.

This original track comes with two remixes, by UK Funky legend Bakongo (aka Roska) and French producers Kaval & Stacktrace. Bakongo flips the already dancefloor-ready track into an irresistible and undeniably UK percussion workout destined for day-party hysteria, proving once again that this veteran of the scene has and always been the master of his genre. If Bakongo’s remix is the day, Kaval & Stacktrace’s epic re-imagining is the night… with the Toulouse based producers flipping ‘Dance Hall Again’ into a hot-blooded and atmospheric late-night mover that is guaranteed to bewitch crowds.

With many years of jazz training under his belt, he brings that same adventurous spirit to both his productions and DJing, blending these influences with UK Garage, Hardcore, Jungle, Footwork, Jersey Club and beyond.

Our feature premiere 'Prince Heavy Shocker' samples the retro-funk 1994 track, 'Dream On Dreamer' by The Brand New Heavies before racing into jungle territory. Constantly evolving with rich textures and speedy grooves, gullydoctor rides out the track with a sultry guitar solo.
