"I'm a very visual producer, I pull influence from experiences or imagine an atmosphere that helps me get lost in the writing process. These four in particular pull a lot from my time at Shambhala in BC Canada, specifically the Grove stage. At the roots, the tunes are trying to play with the feeling many people experience when they enter these outdoor festivals, or the forest, or any other part of nature that pulls out the more nomadic and uninhibited side of us. These festivals have changed countless lives, and I think at the root of that is we are given the opportunity to let go as a community and explore our natural selves. 
"'Physis' is greek for Nature. 'Eclipse' is a dark and beautiful event experienced from the perspective of earth (and a roaming/nomadic festival!). 'Weaving Shadows' pulls from the almost trance-like state people get into when in flow on the dancefloor. 'Etchings' is sort of playing with this funny word I came up with that describes the vibe at some festivals in Canada: "Forest G". It's like this fusion of dubstep, hip-hop influences (like trap hats, 808 etc.), and organic elements that have a unique vibe in my mind."

Who’s the worst kept secret of the 140 scene? Smart money is on dubstep’s most intrepid shaman journeyman, Leo Cap. 

A law unto himself, with Changer EP, Leo’s stepping up to be a true Bad Man. Six immaculately crafted deep system bangers that stand up to any producer on the planet, with unreal sonic clarity, EQ depth and percussive energy. 

Lead single Bad Man begins proceedings with a groove so gangsta it makes G Unit look like the Jonas Brothers, whereas Selfish offers 2025’s best screw face inducing synth line. Changer switches things up with a futuristic soundscape before the drop obnoxiously slaps you around the chops and fails to apologise.

The Ishtar Gate, the second album from Peaky Beats, is a bold and electrifying fusion of UK bass pressure and the deep-rooted musical traditions of the Arab world and ancient Mesopotamia. Named after the iconic gateway of Babylon, this ten-track Arab-Bass opus channels a hypnotic blend of deep sub-bass, syncopated breaks, and gritty low-end with haunting maqam scales, intricate darbuka rhythms, and reimagined motifs from Iraq, Syria, and beyond. From the ominous opener Spirit of Evil to the skanking sway of Tigris Riddim, each track pulses with its own identity—melding UK sound system energy with Arabic modal mysticism. Standouts like Gilgamesh and Cats of Arabia evoke mythic landscapes, while Qita and Meyhane drift into smoky, late-night territory. At the core is the title track, The Ishtar Gate—a towering, Acid-soaked anthem that bridges ancient echoes with futuristic breaks. Both a dancefloor weapon and a cultural statement, this is a sonic excavation and reinvention.

"Wil was with us down at Jamie's, ready to play at one of his events in Bristol. We were going through wips showing Wil what we were working on at the time, and Wil heard the tune that became Wils fault and really wanted us to play it that night. So just before we were meant to leave we sat down to try to make the tune playable, and told Wil that if we make him late for his own event it's his fault. We were a little late but got the tune playable, so 'Wils fault' seemed to stick."

ZiEK joins us straight from Haarlem (somewhere deep in the Netherlands) delivering a weighty 5 track release titled “Crowded EP” for our latest installment which takes us on a journey through his realm of darkness.

This collection of sound provides an audibly murky atmosphere that is evident with deliberate use of bass line distortion and melodically eerie synths. Included in the release are two remixes by Mesck & Kodama that feature subtle elemental differences, bringing their own swing onto the rhythm with the latter portraying a relaxed and euphonious take on the track.
